We should be all over Taylor Adams.

Nineteen years old, averaging 21 disposals per game for GWS, a phenomenal effort considering their midfield is way less experienced than even ours and he gets zero protection.

Would gladly hand over our 2nd rounder (pick 20?) for him, but GWS would not take that.

Taylor Adams for sure. A similar type to Prestia and with a few pre seasons under his belt is showing what he is capable of

3rd round, 5th round and 1st round(10-20)

I think Adams is most desired, the other two aren't really guys with a huge scope for improvement.

GWS are clearly targeting senior players this coming offseason, i think a player trade is more likely than a draft pick trade.

That's fair, I also forgot they have to cut their list size over the next year or 2. I wonder if they would take a fitzy, Dunn or Davis? Probably ask for gawn, hogan or frawley though won't they. I'd entertain Jordy, jamar, spencer or possibly blease or Strauss.

Sure if they'd come.

I'll prob get blasted for this comment, but I reckon bring shane tuck across for a year.

Can't get a game with the Tigers.

Clearance machine, mature body.

With our forward line next year, clearances and long bombs into the fwd line will be great for us.

Swap Jamar for Adams.

GWS want a senior ruckman, we want midfielders.

Done.

Jamar doesn't upgrade them though, he's an older version of Giles. Big, cumbersome and can break even in the middle. I'm not sure he represents value to GWS. Certainly not the same value as Adams.

They'd probably rather a guy like Stef Martin who could've given them a more complimenting role. And they'll be looking for experience but I still think they'd prefer guys with at least a few years left rather than on their last legs. Pretty much the younger the better

Shhhhhhhhhhh!!! Don't tell them that! The rest of the comp still think Jamar is a gun...

You really think that? He's still worthy as an AFL player because he can compete and nullify most opposition ruckman. Not every club has 2 rucks who can do that hence why Collingwood got Hudson out of retirement. But thats about it.

Just my impression, but I think the rest of the league hasn't quite caught up yet to much he's struggling and still have the perception of him as a very good ruck.

They have Bellchambers in the bag 'stuie', put your money on it if you are a betting man.

Tay Adams is very keen to come back close to Geelong, but we'd have to offer a lot more than Jamar.

I think our 2nd round pick might get it done, but other teams will offer more.

Posted

No contest between the three in the title to this thread. Has to be Adams because he's by far the best of the three and he can play in the middle. Question is what we can offer and it may have to be more than just a player but also a pick.

Posted

Richard Douglas and Luke Shuey

Shuey's an interesting one. Do you know his contract status, tatu?

Posted

I'd be happy to offer our second and fifth round pick, and Jamar for Adams and their 4th round pick.

Tuck has been injured (shoulder) since round 7, on comeback trail now

Horsley = a slow overweight Magner with worse disposal. No thanks.

Offer them Spencer for Taylor! Win-Win!

Adams wants to return home to Geelong unfortunately. Wells will make it happen and the Cats' midfield rejuvenation will continue apace.

They are awesome.

No to Horseley and neither here nor there for Anthony.

This should be our "Kennedy/McGlyn" moment where we target midfielders on the verge, but being held back by a team that already has an abundance - Think Geelong, Sydney, Fremantle.

I would suggest we look at Horlin-Smith, Christensen, Bird, Parker, Moribato, Crozier, etc.

It doesn't matter if they are contracted, contracted players get traded as well. Work out what we need e.g. inside midfielders with 3 yrs development who are not getting the opportunity (in the midfield) their form/talent deseves and then chase them hard!

Next to no chance but Christensen and Parker would be nice.

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
