WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - PAUL ROOS

I would be happy with 4 years.

If something goes wrong - imagine paying 4 million to payout his contract after 3 years (especially if we are still financially stuffed)

If it goes wrong what's going to go right? haha this really is our great white hope.

Lock him up for 5, that way he legally can't run when he sees the state of the list up close, until he does something about it.

Me too, watched that clip a number of times such a shock to everybody, loved it.

It didn't seem like the conversation just flowed to that point either, he was determined to let everyone know one way or another.

What time is OTC?

OTC:8:30 tonight. My thinking is Roos will say nothing at all. He will say he hasn't signed a contract. Even though we all think he has I don't think PJ and the AFL would like any announcements to be made on a pay TV station.

Healy and co might be total smartasses about it though haha, could be amusing viewing

I can see both Healy and Sheehan smirking and laughing when Roos says he will talk to PJ later this week and then discuss things with his family.

Channel 7 just said expected to be signed prior to Thursday. Sticking point been Dees want 3 years, Roos 5 years

this doesnt look right.... Id believe that we want 5 and he wants 3....

We are the biggest rabble the AFL has ever seen and we are stalling a deal with the best avaliable coach in AFL.... Over two years..... Not likely....

Would love to hear one of them say, oh you didn't have this chat months ago when the possibility was first raised hahaha

Yep, I can believe that he wants an out in 3 years in case we really are beyond help and his reputation goes up in flames.

On the other hand, you are relocating your kids and your life, might as well do it for 5 years job security and not 3.

Sorry I can't watch either. I meant the Paul Roos one, OTC

Of course it will be discussed on OTC... that's a given. But I will be extremely surprised if any more info is given out... just more nudge nudge, wink wink, a nod's as good as a wink to a blind bat etc etc They might even discuss how his wife is interested in pho...tog...raphy, candid photography... know what I mean.

I doubt very much we will be any more enlightened... unless you want to give yourself more credibility by telling us in advance what is likely to be the ghist of their conversation.

I wonder if he will discuss the meeting with the leadership group in any sort of detail, comments from players made me think he was trying to convince them to stay on and keep faith

He met with the leadership group in a secret location on tuesday ( confirmed by nathan jones and neil Craig ) Nathan jones said it was a positive two way discussion about what's required for paul roos coached teams, his views on the team, and Jones said he was excited to have such an experienced coach next year

then saturday there were reports Roos was at the MCG meeting with PJ and powerbrokers ( imo to sign contract )

the media and us are milking the hell out of this, one second he has signed, one second he hasn't and we are playing right into their hands, i have seen many on here say how they are constantly trawling the the radio, tv and all websites trying to find info...just what they want, we just keep coming back to them for more. Clever by the club as well, as we are getting so much added positive exposure before it's even official, and we all know it will flow once he signs, but maybe not as much due to the size of this finals series, but we have made up for it now. right now we are the talk of the town for all the right reasons. Great management.

On AFL360 Robbo just reminded everyone that roos still has not signed yet which is a point allot of us are forgetting or like me not wanting to think about it.

Geraldo did say that the MFC have postponed other coaching interviews that were meant to take place this week.

Both of them did not say anything about the term of contract.

I would tend to believe these two over Chanel 7 as I think they are pretty good in the industry.

I particularly like listening to Geraldo.

If anyone is watching OTC can you keep the non pay tv viewers posted?

Thanks

Lol I don't Gerard was saying all last year that Travis Cloke to Carlton was a done deal.

Had massive egg on his face when he found out he resigned with Collingwood.

We haven't heard a whipper in the media about this..... Then Roos says he is 50/50 on TV.... And all of a sudden there is sauces coming from everywhere? Jeez.... All i believe at the moment is that Roos is 50/50.... I like that this has been kept quiet, its amazing really.... Im not use to it....

Id be over the moon, if Roos decided to coach Melbourne.... Bring in Jurrah and id go the old double membership....

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
