"Interesting points"? We must have read different articles.

One of the things I find to be interesting is that four of Walls' top 8 in importance are not available to play or injured at present (5 out of the top 12) and another two (T Mac & Toumpas) played their first games back from injury on QB. Add to that the fact that Jack Trengove has laboured due partly at least to the fact that he had no pre season and you have a fairly solid reason why we've been behind the eight ball for most of the first half of 2013.

Of course, it's not the only reason but it gives rise to hope that when the changes are rung in for next year, we'll rise more quickly than some expect.

I don't know if getting rid of our only expanse players when we are try to rebuild is such a good idea.

After the way Sylvia has been playing for us over the past 10 years would any other club want him is my question?

Robert loves to talk and talk and talk so more. Its best not to encourage him.

The real question for the MFC is can they replace 24 players in one season?

Agree.

It's not a bad article when your asked to write 1000 words on one of 18 clubs

That's his highly paid job, to write articles using his knowledge and history but doing some actual research. In this day and age it is not that hard to www.google, melbourne football club, it is a lot harder to read what that search spits out.

i usually rate your opinion on our players which is why I'm surprised you like Blease. My main issue is he seems to struggle to play composed and quality games at VFL as well. No doubt be dominates that level but even at that level he doesn't look like a naturally composed player.

His kicking reminds me of a NFL quarterback who has the great mechanics and throws a tight spiral and looks great. But put him on the field and that accuracy disappears under pressure

I don't think we're in violent disagreement. I see the issues you see, I just think that a young player with his pace that can kick 5 goals in a game has something to offer, especially when one considers his injury history.

Highly paid?? You know that a fact or are you just overcome with glam and glitz of the media.

He writes one short article a week for the loss making Fairfax media and he is "highly paid".

He has given an opinion on what he has observed. He actually stated he did not research player contracts.

its a darn sight more readable than much of the tripe wriitten on this Club by posters who apparently know lots about it.

Couldn't disagree more re: Sylvia.

He must be re-signed.

I agree RB

He is no world beater but is a seasoned player who can justify his selection each week and contribute.

We don't have many of those.

The problem is it will only happen if he wants to stay, we don't have much bargaining power.

We have money, if he chooses to leave for a chance to play finals you would he would be playing for less. We can't be held to ransom. Never fulfilled his potential. Considering the state of our list Davey on a one year deal would be a smart move.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
