Supporters Now Staying Home

Featured Replies

Message loud and clear, supporters are voting with their feet. Today was the first time in years where many of the usual diehard dedicated supporters did not turn up. To see a few missing is normal but to see blocks of empty seats paid for by members is unusual.

Supporter fatigue with this club has come early for 2013, much too early for those at the club who watch the finances.

Whatever happens on Monday it will have to be damn good to get bums back on seats.

The diehards will always go, the club needs to win the majority back

Is it time to book my flight now or do I have to wait one ot two weeks more for a new coach?

I went .... Stayed till the end.

deestar....Im officially a fan of yours now. I stayed home...and turned the radio on and off to manage my volitile mood. Dog survived...nothing was broken...think it worked.

I chose to work. I cant put up with it anymore.

Deestar, respect

Been a paid up member for over 40 years, only missed most of the interstate games. I invested time, money, emotion and my physical health.

Until I start getting some of those things back from the club they can all go jump!

Went with a couple of Hawks mates. The boys tried hard and I thought were good in patches but were simply beaten by a better, more drilled and skilled team that are used to playing together.

Didn't go, but I watched it on Foxtel.

Tried hard but just don't know what to do when they get the ball. Maybe a confidence thing.

I will go next week come hell or high water.

Sounds like it was lucky we in the air and missed it all

I sit in the reserved sat area in he southern stand and I reckon there was 80% spare seats and the northern stand did not look much fuller.

So many of the normal people around me were not there.

28k at the ground and I reckon 6k at most where Melbourne.

Went

I'm lost w.r.t. this team. Some great efforts but I really don't know what the answer is. I need hope

We were even outnumbered in the members

Very sad. Very sad indeed. I HOPE I will be able to go to Queen's Birthday but something needs to give. I have exams to do in the meantime so if I have to choose between watching a D grade football team get smashed and my mood irreparably damaged for the rest of the day or getting my work done, it's a no brainer.

Is that right what about the 60,000 supporters that follow the Dorks did they turn up no!! ever since one club gets the gate opposition supporters don't turn up.

supporters are stupid - don't deserve to have a club to support - old, decaying and weak. No wonder we are crippled by debt and our players have no passion - matches the average melbourne supporter.

I won't go again until that inept, poor excuse for a coach is shown the door:

Will only be back once they get rid of this cancerous element.

why don't you just go for a new side? You can pretend you barracked for them for your whole life.

I won't go again until that inept, poor excuse for a coach is at the helm.

Get rid of the cancerous element and ill be back.

Silence from the club is deafening at the moment. If there are no announcements next week for whatever reason then the whole PR department needs to be sacked. Supporters and sponsors need some sort of hope going forward.

Didn't watch, didn't listen. Had a good family day instead

I wont do it to my mood and I wont subject my family to my mood either.

9 hour turn around for me to attend a game. Won't happen again until i have hope of a competitive effort. Will take more than just Neeld departing.

Ed: I am a member, and this stage will continue to pay. May review this if Williams gets the gig.

I sit in that section as well but not today. I have been overseas and thought about going but I honestly couldn't be bothered driving in to see another belting. People can call it soft and not supporting the club but when will this club support its members by resembling a professional sporting organization? I will pay up every year but I won't go to any event where I know I will return to my family in a [censored] of a mood.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
