Yeah I don't like the move especially after getting Dawes and Hogan I really don't think Pedersen is any better than Sellar as a defender.

Really we will need to delist guys like Davis or Fitzpatrick who will get to the same level as Pedersen and might have more scope for development.

Still it's one player and it is what it is. I'm really not worried about our talls situation. We might end up delisting Davis and Spencer and keeping the rest for the next two years anyway.

It's the midfielders where we need aggressive turnover and improvement.

I think Spencer has 2014 to go

Lets just hpe they have seen something we havent - because I see a slow, flat footed, spudish footballer. Please be another Evans - rising from the ashes.

Evans showed a bit from day one.

But then got injured and was out for the better part of two years.

Don't see any injuries restricting Pedersen

yeah i saw that too

The club also signed Lynden Dunn for two years after he finished the season well in 2012 and, in a surprise to many, gave recruit Cameron Pedersen a three-year contract in the off-season

http://www.afl.com.au/news/2013-05-17/not-all-hell-for-demons

3 years. He was spooked in his first game with MFC.

This really is the Club that keeps on giving.

Wow not impressed that we gave him a 3 year deal. Wouldn't 3 year deals be for established best 22 players? So far he has shown very little during his time here and given where he was at with North you'd surely give him two years maximum.

I didn't disagree with the trade but we have gifted him a contract.

One would have to say, what is the rush? Were there other suitors out there clambering to get him? I would doubt that very much. As has been said, surely one would only sign established players before the end of any season, let alone the season we are having. What exactly does he offer? Was it the same person at the club who gave Newton his hundred year extension??

Have the goat photos been passed on to him??

The only thing that I'm wonderingt is... who will be the next player on our list to get a character assassination all for being drafted/traded into the MFC? Surely these players should be denying themselves any sort of a shot at an AFL career rather than accepting offers... how dare they!!

You're joking? they can't have seriously been that stupid can they?

Neelds logic, lets get rid of one of the only 2 players who can actually play at MFC in Brent Moloney

and lets recruit a spud like Pederson, who couldn't get a game at North and lingered in the VFL, let's give him a 3 year contract.

Sorry jumbo - your photo is not very clear, and I can't be sure if I detect the tongue-in-cheek or not.

Kelly O'Donnell and Tim Harrington are surely 2 of the first out the door if Peter Jackson is wanting to rejuvinate the football department.

Terrible decision at the moment. Can't see it changing either. His only position is in the forward line and with Hogan, Clark, Dawes, Watts, Howe. Are they playing him as the 6th forward?

He did a lot more than just linger in the VFL, won B&F.

Hale couldn't get a game at North either.

Whilst 3 is overs I had seen enough of his form at VFL and AFL level to know it has been far better than anything we have seen thus far. 3 is only ridiculous dependant on what we are paying him. If he doesn;t get a game this year then with a fit Clark, Dawes, entry of Hogan and maturing of gawn it wont happen unless its at the other end of the ground.

NB: Hard to go Kelly O'Donnell for this and ignore Matt Jones and Dean Terlich at the same time.

I would like to see that confirmed before I change my contracts thread.

It would be a strange decision to say the least.

Unfortunately, most of you have missed the moral of that piece - that we have our best players locked away for a few years yet.

The much anticipated exodus of quality players will have to wait a few years.

...that was a good thing to see. I hope that is correct just as I hope the Pederson one isn't.

I still can't get my head around it! Pederson makes Paul Johnson look like a genius ballet dancer.

Does Kelly O'Donnell's director of pro scouting role expand to the VFL? I thought it was purely other AFL players? Obviously that would mean watching VFL and some other state leagues I understand. But he'd be largely responsible for Rodan, Byrnes and Gillies who have been underwhelming as well. Only Byrnes has got a pass and maybe Rodan a pass off the field.

Surely Terlich would've been recruited mainly by the scouts in South Australia?

It is not defending, it is ridiculing the so called experts on here that want every single player we recruit to come out in his first game, get 40 possessions, kick 10 goals, lay 15 tackles, look good on camera in the post game interview, and have a quickie with the opposition's gun midfielders girlfriend in the dressing room straight after the game to really prove a point

He has played 20 odd games, he is still developing, perhaps it might be a dud choice and if that is the case the Footy Dept will fix that, but "we" have no idea about the drafting and why it happene

I had a bit of a laugh. Your analogy reminded me of Flashart from Black Adder.

Why, you are going to base the vitriol you will spit out based on the couple of games he has played?

How many AFL games has he played and what salary is he on?

Have to disagree here. He was taken late, about 25, by North, as he was not seen to be AFL standard by any club earlier.

He only played 2 games last year.

Yes he has only played a few for us, but he looks very ordinary to me.

I can't see any reason you would give him a 3 year deal. He is a short, relief ruckman and an ordinary forward.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
