Sellar was one of 3-4 players who beat their direct opponent last week. How you can count at least 10 who were better is beyond me.

Viney, Terlich, M. Jones, Frawley, Tapscott, Gawn, Dawes, Howe, Evans, Dunn and McKenzie were all better than Sellar last week.
That's 11 names.

I'm not trying to disprove your overall point that Sellar is crap (he is), but trying to argue Dunn and McKenzie were better than him is like trying to argue life is better in North Korea than Afghanistan.

None of Sellar, Dunn or McKenzie were any good last week, and they're all lucky to still be playing this week.

Finally Magner in the team!

That midfield looks really one paced. What is Magner doing in there?

Life probably is better in North Korea than Afghanistan.

But to say that we shouldn't bother distinguishing between the various levels of awfulness currently gracing our team is to miss the point of the process. You are right though; there was hardly any difference between the three.

Spencer and Kent both omitted from the final team. Troy Davis misses the cut again.

We really have nothing to lose giving Davis and Fitzy a few weeks in the seniors to show if they are worth keeping.

We essentially have a debut player in James Magner this week, so I'd hold off on them for another week. Fitzy should be in next week and Davis the week after. I don't like dumping all these young guys in the team all at once; it didn't work for Bailey and it probably won't work for us either.

If Jamar hadn't come up for this week, I would have played Fitzy. But since he did I'm happy to wait a little longer on him.

My issue with Davis is who he comes in for. I think with Frawley, McDonald/Sellar and Garland, we are big enough down back and i would have all those players ahead of Davis. Unfortunately for him, I think he'll have to wait for an injury.

Strauss for sub. Davey has earnt a full game in the pocket and if Magner doesn't get the full game I'll throw a rock through the office windows!

I cannot believe that Rohan Bail is still in the team after the last two weeks. The kid really needs some time off!

For anyone questioning the selection of toumpas and jetta (which I am), have a think about the reasons a and alternatives.

With 5 outs, are there two players who deserve to be in more? Particularly when people are calling for 3 or 4 other players to be dropped.

Also, we were horrible last week. Really horrible. Would anyone have been happy if we only made forced changes (injuries and suspensions) and didn't drop anyone?

Is watts playing for Casey or is his hammy keeping him out for another week?

Toumpas showed good form at Casey, and besides with him its all about development. So when you're a 4th pick and you've played a good un' in the VFL he should be rewarded with a kick at AFL. He was also selected because he's got nice skills, and god knows we need some of that.

Love that Magner has been selected. I don't care if he's the slowest man in the league. As long as he gets to the stoppages and bullocks his way towards the ball, then he's done enough for me. We need muscle.

Love that about Toumpas and Magner.

If Clark had been out (injured) this week it could have been Out: Spencer Davis Clark Kent.

We also have the Barry McKenzie permutation (for those old enough to remember).

Geez, I'm glad we didn't play Fitzpatrick. Still couldn't hit the side of a barndoor. Meanwhile, Joel Macdonald will never play AFL again.

Posted

Yes he will. Have you watched the whole game?

From quarter time. He misses tackles and his disposal is mostly deplorable. And my god Blease is soft and his disposal is overrated.

Any chance that the 26 players tested positive to illicit drugs by the Afl were all from the same team?....like us?

you would assume cocaine would make them less zombish...

Gees Greg Denham rates sellar - at about the same level some would a dog dropping that you stood in, didn't notice, then walked all over your carpet...

If magnet performs tomorrow it jtst raises more questions about why he was rookies in the first place...

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
