How low can you go?

I can't remember feeling this low as a supporter of this footy club. My friends marvel at my resilience and ability to bounce back and always be talking about next week, next year or the next six foot recruit from Eaglehawk. Put simply, I'm struggling to see a way out and in all my years following this team, I've always hung on to more than just blind optimism and irrational hope. I've always penned my MFC premiership team (in puzzle-like fashion) with a label some 4 - 6 years in the future. My friends have stopped abusing me, my students pity me and my family probably think twice before calling me. We have surely hit rock bottom. I hate self-pity and often have a crack at other Dees supporters for giving in to the losing culture and exposing the very obvious chip on their shoulder. Now it's time for my self-indulgence.

I give you the Goodvibes Graph of Faith/Hope. It's clear proof. We've never been lower.

Love a good graph. But what on earth were you doing in 1977 to come up with a 100% hope fest?

I was 3. My daughter's 3 right now and sings the Dees song every day and was singing it at the end of the game yesterday. I'm guessing I was the same back then.

Trust me, this is a very carefully considered graph.

Know the feeling Vibes. I don't get hassled by anyone being a Demon anymore.

Stay thecourse

One of my best mates is a filth supporter and he texted me at halftime against GC to rub it in. He's a right [censored], but he's one of my barometers. Once HE gives me pity, we're officially done. While he's still giving me grief, there's hope.

I arrived at work this morning to find one of my colleagues hitting play on the Gold Coasts club song as I entered the office.

Low, very low is how I felt.

Still managed to PMSL though.

i still get the abusive texts, especially now that the Eagles have won a couple of games in a row. I enjoy the banter though and they know it. Here are a few from Sunday;

"hahaha Sylvia you dirty #$*%, you are pathetic just like the excuse for a football club that you play for"

"If i went for a team that lost to Gold Coast by 10 goals i would top myself"

"Hobart Demons?!"

"hahahahahaahaha is Jack Watts going to be made captain next week?! Rubbish"

In all fairness when the eagles got the spoon i was relentless with my abuse!

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

It's Game Day and the Demons are once again faced with a classic 8 point game against a traditional rival on King's Birthday at the MCG. A famous victory will see them reclaim a place in the Top 8 whereas a loss will be another blow for their finals credentials.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
