Fcuk me my five year old is counting down the days to going to see the Dees against Freo in two weeks, poor kid at least I can have a few beers & laugh. I will take small positives whilst watching a kid develop or someone getting on top of their direct opponent and my boy will just be wanting to wave his Dees flag!

Mate i feel sorry for your kid already. Such a sad state of affairs. I wont be surprised if 186 gets eclipsed this yr. I have a 2 yr old daughter and i bought her a guernsey but I have to say it feels cruel encouraging her to barrack for the dees. But then if we all had that attitude i suppose the club would definately be doomed then.

I am genuinely scared about what lays ahead. This cant be good for ones health!!!

My eldest son is now 21. As a little tacker we bought him a guernsey and he wanted Jeff Farmers number on it. Then Wiz left and we had Woey's number put on his back. When he left I said this is a bad pattern - FCS don't put David Neitz's number on your back.

He was with me at the 2000 elimination final win over the Blues, which in hindsight was probably the last great highlight for this club. Now I look at the last 15 or so years of his life and think - poor b*****d, what have I done to him.

MFC - take note of this. I don't know how much longer I will stick with it but you will be losing your future supporters big time.

Pathetic bunch of whingers on this forum. I'm as angry and frustrated as the next person however the constant whining and overall pathericness of people's posts on here is getting very long in the tooth. We are all over the MFC's poor form and have been putting up with sub-standard football for years. We WILL get out of this mess.

Yeah, my 11 year old is teaching me a few lessons... I tend to sit in front of the TV throwing my hands up in the air whining about our inability to stay with the opponent, the fact that they allow the man too much latitude, the fact they don't seem to be able to lay a tackle below the shoulders, and finally when in exasperation I say that I'm through with the club, he will tell me I'm weak and that they are at least out there doing it while I'm just sitting around complaining... he reminds me that in the end it really is just a game and he is teaching me that I shouldn't throw the towel in. I would have thought most kids his age would just move on to a more successful club to follow, but he is a true supporter who is happy to be in it for the long haul... I have nothing but admiration for him.

Is he interested in a senior coaching position?

As a coach myself, you only have to attend one clinic of 50+ kids to see that future support is dwindling. There'd be 3 or 4 MFC jumpers tops out of 50 or 60 kids at those things. Success will bring new supporters, but it has to be the ultimate success. We don't look like achieving that this decade.

Looking ahead - Richmond, Freo (away), Hawthorn, Collingwood - and I thought we had just hit rock bottom - perhaps not. Then again, I'll be there this week - Give us something boys, please !

Hawthorn will quite possibly be an absolute massacre. I am really dreading it

i have 9 tickets to this game. I'm dragging along a group of paddy's from work who i've forced to become Demon supporters in the name of Jim Stynes. Will be interesting to say the least

im hoping for a backs to the wall, interim coaching masterclass from neil Craig or Viney!

They will be fine with that, us Irish have attended many Football competitions around the world with no hope of winning it but the drink and party (craic) is something you can't describe. A win is a bonus. I was at the 1994 World Cup and attended the game in New York where we beat Italy, we were drinking in a bar after the game and the place was full of Paddy's. The bar staff could not keep up with the crowd, two Irish fellas jumped the bar and asked the bar man how much he charged for beers, when he told them they started serving and all drinks were paid for and the money put in an ice bucket at the end of the bar. Great night had by all

At the game yesterday there was a kid, no older than about five years old standing up near me talking to himself telling Melbourne to kick more goals.

Of course! It's so obvious!

Give that kid a job now!

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak
