One midfielder I reckon we should go after is Lukey Dahlhaus.

Just the type we need and i think he will only get better, can be Ablett like at times.

Id throw the big bucks at him, that the doggies couldn't match.

I agree but he is signed until 2015.

Dogs have built their entire junior membership around him with the Dahlhaus Dogs.

They identified him early as a long term player for them.

We should go after Nat Fyfe and go after him hard.

He is on another level to any of the young brigade in the AFL, maybe other than Steele.

He might embrace the change, WA gets stale and Vic is the place to be as far as football goes.

Other players to chase, Rory Sloane and Dylan Shiel.

These top clubs aswell, they can't keep all their players, especially Collingwood.

If we trade Jamar, get rid of Sylvia and Davey, we'd be able to throw a stack at a premier midfielder.

Essendon got Goddard, so we should be trying to get an A grader.

^^^^^^^

Dylan Shiel is a very good mid in the making and probably the only likely target out of this group. Fyfe is no chance he is a country boy so Perth is in no way stale to him, Sloane well don't think he was impressed when available and told we would take him only to be overlooked for Bennell. If you want to go hard for a midfielder from the West go for Shuey but another one hard to get

Yeah, the expansion clubs need to be raided.

Any of the three would be a great pickup, with the forward line we have if we improve our midfield we then take the pressure off the backs and give dawes clark and hogan great supply and we are suddently a very different team

Yeah, the expansion clubs need to be raided.

The issue with expansion clubs is that they have bigger caps and space to match us if they need to.

I can only seeing us land a player from these clubs if the player is adamant they want out to Melbourne.

No offence, but you're all living in fantasy land. Dalhaus, Fyfe, Shiel & Sloane would all be considered untouchable by their clubs.

Fyfe is a superstar and if his shoulder sees out the season, he'll be considered a top 10 player in the comp, he's that good. I think the only way we could get Fyfe off Freo would be if we offered Hogan, and obviously that's not going to happen.

A lot of people on here are absolute dreamers. How the hell would we get any of Fyfe, Sloane, Dahlhaus or Shiel to the club? Unfortunately we currently don't have much to offer clubs either than a little money. We are going to be much more likely to pick up disgruntled/unrequired players from other clubs a la Dawes.

I'd love to get Thomas but I doubt he will want to come to us unless we start to win a few more games. The fact is we are going to have to pick up more players like Byrnes and Rodan who can add a bit of experience until we are winning more. Another option is to look for guys like Koby Stevens who can't get a game at their current club. He's no world beater but he is tough and we need some more contested ball winners.

As sad as I am to say it, why would any of these blokes choose to come to the MFC? It's hardly an appealing destination given our current state where in between leaping from one crisis to the next, we play some of the worst football on record.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
