I want gawn in.

Did you see the stats for Jamar today?

38 hit outs (to who I would like to know) he had zero input. Gawn must come in.

I totally agree that Jamar's worth around the ground is zilch. I also agree that he is ripe to be replaced as soon as the other guys are fit & ready. However, I am a very analytical eye when it comes to the centre bounce/ball up. Jamar was excellent today in the centre re-starts. He was much more effective than last week in giving our midfield first touch. He mixed it up more (which was a major criticism from Bombers game) and he cleared a path. So those critical of his ability to time the jump, thwart opposition and get the tap aren't watching closely. But we all agree there is more to being a gun ruckman than that in the modern game. That is why so many applaud Cox.

I cannot wait for r1 next year when Hogan lines up. Im shattered he isnt available this season as he would be great right now.

I think its great for Hogan that he can spend the year in the VFL. He will benefit more than getting the best AFL defenders and playing in a losing side.

Maybe if you checked I actually spoke about Barry in the seniors

Yes I noticed that he kicked a goal. I was going by the named teams; when he was listed as a starter in the Development League; I didn't notice that he had been upgraded before the match.

Shame that Watts did not play yesterday and that the MFC held back all three emergencies (Watss, Rodan and Spencer), at the "G" instead of allowing one or two of them to travel to Ballarat for some match practice!

Sorry if this has been mentioned in this thread already. But last night on the TV they were talking bout watts not playing any football this week, Apparently he had to hang around the MCG because one of our forwards was under a cloud (mitch).

Yep Because our last 8 Round 1 games have been f***** brilliant. We carry so much momentum from the pre season into the regular season. I love round 1.

Yer it was - on the post above yours

It is annoying for us supporters but Neeld has given his reason. It was VFL or AFL emergency. He said it was a tough decision and he said he put the team first. He also said one of the talls was in doubt to play.

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs West Coast

It’s game day and the Demons return to Melbourne to play the Eagles at the MCG for the first time in over a decade. A win keeps the Dees finals hopes alive whereas a loss will almost certainly slam the finals window shut.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
