Was expecting a monday morning ribbing but someone tells me that he heard that half the team has had the flu the last two weeks? any truth to that?

I'd believe Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (as yet undiagnosed) or Ross River Virus (likewise).

Of course they might just be playing pox.

In all seriousness I heard over the weekend that McKenzie hasn't been well and him falling ill had something to do with the pool at AAMI. Some other players haven't been well either, not sure to what extent though as what I heard mainly centred on Jordie.

If thats true then it makes sense as i have had the worst flu of all time, and its stuck around for three weeks.

Totally drains you of energy.

I heard Watts, Dean Kent, and a few others have had the flu.

Kent's illness is mentioned in the VFL player review. Neeld already commented on Watts.

Surely at a professional sports club they would have had flu shots?

Or maybe they're too nervous to do it after Essendon's last injection day...

We know Watts was ill and you know of footy clubs that if one player is sick often more are.

Does little to excuse their performance because we had plenty of guys at Casey who were obviously fit.

It a medical fact, the Flu virus can remain active in a beard for something like 7 years. Time to get rid of the beards boys, they're killing the club.

Do the Melbourne Storm use that pool too?

Doesn't look like it's affected them. http://www.nrl.com/HoldenCup/Ladder/tabid/10718/Default.aspx

I would think they would but it's only flu shot time now, plus it only prevents against 3 strains of the flu anyway.

Would it be in the clubs interest to admit this or not?

Probably not if it's only a few.

Doesn't excuse the last two weeks, surely.

There is a virus doing the rounds and I've had it (still have) it's pretty bad and if any of the players have it I feel for them. I got a call from Robbo on Friday about some FH stuff and I told him I was too sick to talk, he mentioned that one of his band had it as well. My son's Fiance has it and has been off work for a while.

I lost 1 & 1/2 kilos in a day.

Does Piescum use that same pool or are we just pooling ourselves

They have their own I think. Probably have gold class passes to MSAC anyway given Eddie's pull.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
