Six to Tappy as the lead goes out to 40 points!

May I ask what role/position tappy is playing.

I really want tappy to be molded into a chappy role (high forward/mid)

How does he look?

Agreed but the fact is Gawn is not ready and Neeld would be a fool to bring him in after 1 VFL game in 2 years

Don't think we have any other choice . The Russian wont play next week as he lost every tap .

I think he's always been groomed for that sort of role. It looks as if he's been given plenty of licence today because he's been getting kicks in midfield and up forward.

Thanks KC enjoy the game!

This is probably the single shed of light we have had so far this season

Jamar did not lose every tap... His problem is that the taps, generally, don't find our midfield and that he doesn't contribute enough around the ground or up forward.

Didn't get his hands on too many last night 'wayne', but agree with the rest.

But he was only getting taps when Ryder miss timed his jump. Ryder was always half a body length higher than Jamar.

His problem is that the top ruckmen contribute around the ground and Jamar contributes very little and that will never change.

Jamar just did not use his body on ryder allowed him to jump into him and use him as a step ladder to get the taps, those that Jamar got went to his feet, I was surprised at the number of times melbourne players behind him were clear, so obviously no talking to him to let him know where it should go.

There was not much he could do - you can't just tunnel the opposition ruckman and at stoppages there is that new contact rule that favors vertical leapers. If I was Neeld I would have just said go man on man if you can get the ball good but if you can't you don't let your man get it!

Jamar had donuts in the kicks column last night. Zero kicks. Its time to make a statement give Spencer and/or Gawn a run (get rid of Sellar and play 2 ruckmen against Cox).

Bit disappointing that our top 3 posession getters are all rookie listed so cant play next week. Thanks for the updates as always KC!

Atleast the top goal kicker can.

Looks like Tappy will get another go. It looks like the game may be about to pass Jamar by - and he is contracted for next year as well. If he digs deep we may see some improvement in his play from here on. Gawn will need a good 5 or 6 VFLgames before being ready. We would have to have the worst performing midfield ever? Pity we cannot bring Magner in. Toumpas needs some time in the VFL to develop. When Dawes comes in we should give Watts a go as third tall up forward as he would attract the third best defender. This would free HAiowe up for more midfield time.

Not a real lot of midfield options at the moment!!

Gillies, Sellar or Jamar needs to take one for the team and go down with a fake LTI during the week so we can get Magner in to give our midfield half a chance.

Those 3 players should be banished from playing for the Dees until at least after the bye round.

Can you drop someone from the senior list to promote a rookie, or does he have to be injured.?

The situation is critical

I woud drop Sellar and Gillies for Magner and Couch

No unfortunately. We can upgrade a rookie mid season but for the first time ever we are cursing our full bill of health

Left at the end of the third. I'd say Tappy, Jetta and Spencer would be walk ups for next week. Kent might be a show as well. Gawn looks good but might need another run or two. Hogan really provides a lot of direction to the other forwards and is very unselfish. Probably could have had a couple more shots instead of laying off inside 50.

It looks like it has.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
