Training Photos : 26-3-2013 - Six6Six over and out

The final set of photos for preseason 2013. This is it, over and out for this year unless there is a special event that warrants the dusting off of the shutter button.

Hope that I have brought some joy to the faithful during this very low profile onfield preseason (especially in relation to the football media).

Oh, and buy the way: GO Dees!

Thanks so much for the pics your deevotion can't be questioned!

Few points from the photos:

- Interesting how skinny Clarks legs are, as much as I want him to play round 1 I would be happy to see him play another full game at Casey.

- Excited about Dawes looks to have changed body shapes for the better since leaving the filth.

- Geez byrnes looks like a real leprechaun in pic 13 (compared to Spencer) - hopefully he can find a pot of gold for us

- I love pic 23 with Trengove and Viney, I hope they build a strong bond over the next 10 years

- Pick 31 is a funny one - Spencer will always be a lank

- If pick 32 had a player instead of a trainer in the background I would probably frame that and put it on my wall (Toumpas is all class) . - A tribute to your photog skills 66.

- Barry is already adding muscle, I think the Morton/Gysberts days are over - no more 5 year development players

- I can't help but wonder why the coaches have not told Rodan to slim down, his thighs are the size of tree trunks surely that would slow him down.

- Pick 62 and 69, in 69 I thought tappy was growing a dunn moustache but don't worry its just his pointy tongue

- If their was another player other than Jones and Clark that should/could have be in the leadership group it is Sylvia, he just has a presence about him (oh what could have been...)

Thanks again 66

Noticed that too. Extremely skinny. That being said, he NEEDS to be on the field round 1. Most important player for us imo. He adds so much to the team, even when he's not 100%. He's no more of an injury risk playing in the round 1 than he is playing reserves, and an underdone Clark is far superior to the likes of Pederson. No-brainer for mine

I would think that they haven't shrunk greatly and another game for Casey probably will not greatly affect the thickness of his legs.

Pic 4 and 15 would suggest otherwise, mate. But agreed, a game at Casey wouldn't make any difference obviously.

Let's just hope he gets up for Round 1

Thick legs never hurt Ablett ,Ablett ,Dunstall ,Matthews ,Whitten ,Skilton etc.

Kevin Dyson may be the exception .

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm
