As it doesn't really relate to the Tanking case, here are the tweets:

- Neil: the way the players have attacked training has been up another level.

- Neil: Next Monday, the majority of rehab players will be back on the track excluding Clark and Trengove.

- Neil: re Boxing Day incident there won't be any penalty applied to players and clarifies they weren't evicted.

- Neil says the speculation about tanking has had minimal effect on training and elite preparation.

- Neil says whilst there is a sense of urgency to resolve the tanking issues, it won't be rushed.

- Re: new leadership group. Neil says all members will need to lead by example and provide leadership in decision making.

- Neil says the last 12 months has partially been about educating players about what is required to achieve the ultimate success in AFL.

- Neil Craig's press conference has now finished and will be on http://melbournefc.com.au shortly

May have just been the weekly training presser?

Possibly, but this is the first time I can recall the MFC tweeting live.

Odd a presser is called for such matters.

Designed to change the content of the news feeds.

Interesting tactic.

Got it in one WYL, we seem to be adopting the best form of defence is attack, I am personally sick of all the crap 'reporting', the Boxing Day 'incident' being a prime example.....good on the Club again

Kind of what i thought. Interesting manner of approach.

The old bumbling buffoonery of a club ( This is my take on how many might have seen the club in not so olden times , espc the AFL ) might have made a mess of all of this but there seems to be much wiser and more capable thinkers at the club presently.

The AFL might have instigated the 'fight' but they might well have misconstrued their opponents.

The Club seems intent on doing things on 'their ' terms and not the template others would prefer.

This is interesting, pleasing as well.

Yes we certainly messed things up quite a bit in the past, but i get the distinct impression that the club knows exactly the right way to minimalize these problems & ultimately fix them up now.

People have learnt.

Which is why we should be assisting Dean Bailey on both moral and financial levels right now.

He is representing this club whenever he is speaking about 2008-09.

Rightly so - gross over reaction on the part of the media and many forum posters.

So what..go hold hands with Ben.

That they got off doesn't diminish the stupidity.

Club has bigger fish to fry currently.

What stupidity, being in a photo and looking like guys in their early 20's having a laugh and a good time.....the stupidity is people believing what was written......unless you are a person who was sat next to them at the G you have no idea what occurred......this is over and the Club has handled it

I think Neil Craig is a great asset for our football club.

Couldn't agree more - an asset in so many ways.

I'm pretty sure the powers-that-be can walk and chew gum at the same time BB - I don't think the players escaped punishment because the club is dealing with the tanking issue, which seems to be what you're implying.

I'm pretty sure if you read between the lines you (even you ) might realise the Club is far from impressed but chose one method of reprehension over another.

Stupid is as stupid does.

I'm actually relieved to hear that.

the game has become too stressful for a sane person to not let the hair down every so often. if they can't de-stress we'll just lose them one way or another.

NC and MN will prove to be the most brilliant decisions of the Stynes/McLardy era.

Notwithstanding some shambolic proceeses prior to their arrival.

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
