Latest murmurings of a crazy time

I don't mind trading pick 4 for Daniel Rich ,has anyone checked out his YouTube clips? Elite foot skills , runs hard and can spread , tough courageous and can find the footy , has improved on dealing with a hard tag , he is also a goal kicking mid and can thump them from well outside 50, still only, 22-23 so fits our age demographic nicely , what's not to like about him ? In saying that though Olly Wines or Toumaps or O'Rourke at Pick 4 would be fantastic aswell !!!!

I think Hogan will be good, but he will still take time. You can't expect him to hold down a key position consistently from day dot.

I understand this sentiment, but the one year at Casey playing against men will perfectly set Hogan up for 2014.

Round 1, 2014 Hogan will be 195cm and 100kg. I think supporters will be surprised how ready he'll be. Darling just kick 50 goals as a 19 year old in his second season. Hogan will be in his first and need time to find his feet, but it won't take long. He'll be a gun in 2015.

And I wouldn't be so whats your point

Do you think Brisbane would take the guy running tan laps or the guy getting trashed in Vegas if they were a dead heat on ability

And I wouldn't especially call going to Vegas 'relaxing'

My point is you are not professional sportsman who has manager to deal with the intricacies of contracts and AFL Club Football departments. You can not compare your personal experiences in the labour market with Moloney as they are poles apart.

Brisbane would not begrudge a seasoned AFL player a bit of a break as they will trust that he is staying fit over the break and continuing to maintain fitness on some level.

The fact that you would not or could not enjoy Las Vegas is irrelevant and a value call which has as much weight in a debate as the fact that I like cup of tea in the morning.

Anyone hearing Blues chasing Frawley?

I do get sick of the Frawley rumours. If we wanted to get rid of him, like Collingwood want to get rid of Dawes, they may hold some weight, but we don't.

And importantly he's contracted for 2013 and also contracted for 2014. If we want him, which we do, he won't be going anywhere.

I have you on probation due to the fact that you put forward the 'Involvement in the MD' notion months ago that netted us Viney at 26 and Hogan...

I like the possibility of Fitzy, Gawn and Jamar resting forward as the third tall forward. Like Cox and NicNat.

Clark, Hogan and Gawn/Fitzy/Jamar should cover us for tall forwards.

Unfortunately, Gawn/ Fitzy/Jamar will never be as good in any combo - ruck or fwd - as Cox or NicNat (settle Rangey....)

Cox could very well be a high quality permanent fwd, if Worsfold chose to. And NicNat will be, in due course.

That is why one or even 2 of Ped/ Dawes/Gumby is a good idea, at the right price.

Also, if one or both of Clarke/Hogan went down with a LT injury (touch wood no), the above recruits could step in.

Or would you prefer the likes of Rivers, Garland or Silvia to do that again for another year?

PS - please please please lets keep pick 4 live for a gun mid in the draft - Toumpas, O'Rourke, Wines.

they dont have to be as good as cox and nic nat, just play a similair role.

Fitzy played the year as a fwd pinch hitting the ruck very well at casey all year and if his development continues next year he could be every bit as useful as dawes or gumby.

2013 fwd line- byrnes clark fitz

sylvia watts howe

if you rotate fitz with jamar throughout the match i think we could retain solid structure and not have to give up a first rnd pick on a caretaker kpf

I'm reckon Watts will play another season down back (or even permanently if Hogan comes along, especially if we have dawes/gumbleton), and Howe has been talked as pushing into midfield more. Fitz hasn't done anything extraordinary yet, but I'm sure he'll get his chance.

Veteran Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin returned to the training track to bring you the following observations from Gosch's Paddock this morning. Beautiful morning for training. The dew has dried, out from AAMI, quiet chatting. Maysie does his heart symbol. 7 in rehab, Turner, Hore, Sestan, BBB, Petty, Spargo and Schache. All in runners. Melky weighted and change of angles work. Salem has his individual program. White cap (no contact), Howes, Woewodin and Sparrow

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th
