Tim Harrington was previously with North so I would imagine that he still has a few contacts there and I would hope he has asked the right questions about Pederson's lack of opportunities.

Lack of opportnuties or not, the simple facts are he was recruited as a mature=aged rookie & managed only 2 games in 2012 with a middle-of-the road outfit.

A depth player worth a late third round pick at best .. if NM don't want that, then forget it

Whilst I essentially agree im coming around to the ideas floated by some that we do what we need to do to get what we ant. Others can work it out for themselves as to value.

We could cut off our nose to spite our face if not careful.

We want what we want...our only available currency is the picks we have, they disappear as exchange come 2pm Friday

Pederson deal looks like going down the the wire. North want Jacobs and don't want to do a deal with us only to see us snaffle 33 for Martin after that. Tippett uncertainty appears to be cruelling the Martin trade. I suspect Pederson for 49 to us and maybe Jacobs for 38 to North at the last minute on Friday.

They cannot expect to get the same for Pederson as they did for Mcintosh imo, is crazy, why even think that? i think we will get 33 and use it will be a good player imo, maybe a Haynes, Towers or Carter type

If we get 33 we will use it.

Why should we get 33 for Martin?

Because he is a freakishly tall human being, and people of that size command a lot more than people of the same ability but 10-25cm shorter.

Being tall is useless unless you can actually play footy ... still a very questionable attribute as far as Martin is concerned.

Pick 33 would be madness for him.

Tell that to clubs that spent similar or better picks on the likes of Meesen, Brooks, Robert "the lesser" Warnock, Lisle, Renouf, Hale, Paul Johnson, Wood, washed up Everitt, the list goes on.

You need to list the picks they were taken the second time around for your argument to carry weight.

Huh? That's not their draft position, but what they were traded for.

You misunderstand me or I'm not making myself clear. I'm asking you ... what were each of them traded for?

Well, it doesn't really add or detract from my argument, but as you wish:

PJ for 29

Brooks for 6 and 31

Wood for 14

Renouf for 33

Lisle for 29

Old Everitt 33

Street 20

Meesen 38

Warnock and 69 for 24, 56 and 72

Hale and 52 for 19 and 71

I suppose it doesn't. But it sure stacks up as evidence as to why any club should proceed with caution with spud ruckmen!

Doesn't seem right that North want us to pay overs for Pederson so that they can get Jacobs. Thats their problem not ours.We should pay what Pederson is worth to us , nothing more

I rate Gysberts higher then Pederson, especially since our midfield is atrocious and we need as much midfield potential as we can possibly have.

That's the issue, too much potential and not enough performance.

If they want to make an early call on Gysberts then that is better than losing him for even less next year when we push him harder than we did this year and play him even less. He won't get a game next year.

He won't want to be around after this contract is up, surely.

It ll be depressing when Brock Mclean is tearing it up and we have Pederson struggling to make our first 22 due to the abundance of talls we have.

This is the first time I've ever been sick to death of a player BEFORE he joined us.

    TRAINING: Monday 20th January 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
