Why are they being delisted?

Can't get a game for north with their current best 22.. i think they have some value

Mkinley looked ok in his first year at the Eagles, but he's a spud, make no mistake!

Daniel Archer is available. Delisted by the Saints!

Interested in the Archer. Good size & hard at it! I think he is quite capable from what I have seen of him & deserves another crack at AFL.

This is exactly the problem - we are at risk of throwing away players who are better than what may be available from other clubs as rejects - clearly a very poor path to follow.

how can you make that judgement until you see who leaves and who arrives?

So do we sit on our hands and do nothing or do we evaluate each opportunity on its merits? Aside from Rivers, none of the MFC OOC players would represent a loss to us.

doing nothing gaurantees the continuance of the status quo.... Coles bells a'ringing !! Not up up

I don't think this is the path we are going down mate, might be wrong but I just don't see judging by what is coming out of Neeld recently.

No thanks to McKinley. Edwards would be the more valuable of the two. He has some redeeming qualities as a footballer but I'm not completely sold on him.

I think Edwards proven marking and goal kicking ability would be welcomed at Melbourne.

Think along the lines of Brad Green although not as good as him in his prime...definately better than Green circa 2011/12.

Any senior player with the body to compete and to fill a glaring hole would be a welcome addition in my book.

Tick to Edwards from me too. 1 year deal, frees Howe to spend more time in the midfield/high half forward and gives us a secondary option to Clark. Agree, better option than Green offered in 2012.

Swans are doing pretty well with other teams rejects.

Look at Munferd.

Who have we thrown away? Moloney left us as a rfa which is within his rights to do. Jurrah pulled a shifty one out of contract, which he cold have done anyway. Apart from that the rest is speculation, and the club and Neeld have already said that it has been reported poorly, far too early to make that call. I also agree with RR that apart from Rivers very little high quality will be getting "thrown away" should our uncontracted players be let go.

We arguably have the worst side since 1981 and you don't want us to turn the list over ?

Extraordinary.

Edwards screams too much of Juice Newton to me. Great talent, has the ability, just can't put it together. He's 28. No Thanks.

Mumford was hardly another teams reject.

It's amazing. We have Clark, Frawley, Grimes, Jones & Trengove as our core. Players such as Blease, Howe, McDonald, McKenzie & Watts who could go either way & then a pile of shite.

Yet there are countless tear filled threads for players such as Cook, Gysberts, Petterd et al! I weep because they're still on the list.

By final list lodgment 2013 the following players will/should be gone: Bate, Bennell, Cook, Davey, Dunn, Green, Jurrah, Macdonald, Moloney & Morton. And the following players could be gone: Bartram, Davis, Gysberts, Jetta, Martin, Rivers, Strauss & Sylvia as well as possibly one of Fitzpatrick/Gawn/Spencer. Some have played some good games at the MFC & some may well go on to play some good games at other clubs. Which will upset a lot of posters.

I foresee a potential turning over of half the list in the next two off seasons. It's probably a minority view around here but I can't wait.

You've listed 19 players (10 'will/should' and 9 'may'). Might be a bit of overkill there.

Personally, I think Dunn, and particularly Macdonald, are good depth, and maintain some much needed experience (Joel especially provides leadership in the example he provides to the youth as far as competitiveness, attitude, and getting the best out of oneself goes). They are keepers, for now.

Gysberts, Martin and Strauss represent potential in areas that we are light on that have not yet exhausted a reasonable chance to develop, in my opinion. Short contracts.

Getting rid of Rivers or Sylvia is just plain stupidity. We are seriously lacking experience and class. Only get rid of these players if we replace them the same or more experience and class.

Davey and Barts should only go if injury will prevent them from returning to their best.

And considering the state of our list compared with others', another clubs 'rejects' would be our solid players.

I think Edwards would pretty useful.

Malthouse turned over 18 in his first two years at Collingwood.

Who would have imagined, when the season kicked off early last month, that Melbourne would emerge from the opening six weeks with wins over both Queensland powerhouses? At the time, Gold Coast and Brisbane were the competition’s early pace-setters, the flavours of the month, and the prospect of the Demons toppling both within the course of a fortnight seemed remote. Yet here they are, banking those scalps alongside home victories over two traditional Victorian rivals and building a quietly impressive resume.
