Precaution against Cloke's imminent departure?

And Dawes inability to mark a footy.

Bit of a leap from the Ovens & Murray Football League though. I wouldn't have thought Collingwood would be 'that' desperate. Watching him play for Casey on a few occasions....he's just a player from another era. I'm not sure he's ever heard the term 'forward defensive pressure' muttered..

when we played against him this year we kept him to 3 goals at 3qtr time. we thought beauty because by then he had been sent off and body language was shitouse and our fullback who is one of the best in the comp completely shut him! the last qtr he exploded and kicked 7 straight. i thought to myself this bloke should be still in the AFL and if he got his [censored] together the ability is still there. needs to trim down a fair bit though..

good on him i say. has been a masterstroke up here in the country. has a long way too go but you get the sense that if he was given a go he would give it his all not stuff up again. talking to a few yarra mates they said his attitude has been pretty first class. but then again yarra have a few drop kicks there..

Thanks for the details, he is such an enigma as a player. He can kick goals out his khyber but just doesn't seem to suit the modern game. Who knows he may still kick 50 goals in a season but is a massive massive gamble and liability.

Cloke has 50 goals for the year though...

Hilarious isn't it, he's a spud yet has 45 goals (9th in comp), 1st in contested marks, 5th in marks inside the F50.... Dees are crying out for another one of those players.

I don't know that he's that big a risk. If he doesn't turn out, big deal. The opportunity cost is tiny and you're probably going to get kudos for giving the guy a 'second' chance; if he screws up it'll be on him.

That said, I'd be very surprised to see him on an AFL list again.

read the article moron, he didnt do his knee, stop reporting crap. he landed awkwardly and stayed on the ground ffs

But in a possible blow to Pigeons' flag aspirations, Fevola finished the game on the bench with a knee injury.(second line)

SEN today said it was a PCL

Rumour that he's going to trial with Collingwood under strict fitness and behaviour requirements and could be selected as a mature age rookie.

Precaution against Cloke's imminent departure?

would this be the same source that spread Buddy on 3 strikes?

No...the Fev one is probably incorrect.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
