How good do we all honestly think Jones could get?

If he was in a "successful" side he would be one of the brownlow favourites this year.

As we improve, he will also improve. I wonder how far he could go?

Or am i getting caught up in the Jones hype of this year...

Look at someone like Keiran jack, who has been getting great accolades this year, but in my opinion has been on par with Jones.

To be fair though, I have noticed the media noticing Jones more and more.

been a harsh critic of Jonesy over the years, but he is now, in my opinion, elite at the Demons, should be captain too. fair play jonesy, so glad you proved me wrong. i ask any of my non Demon mates and they all love him

I am only a 3rd year supporter of the Demons since moving to Melbourne from the ACT (yawn) and Jones was a huge influence on my decision of which team to adopt as my own.

Tough. Hard working. No nonsense.

I'm hoping he even has another level to go to next year .

In Jones first season I thought this guy was going no where, I remember he wouldn't know what to do when we got the ball and most of the time handball it to the other team.

Now look at him, his a gun. One of our best players.

It really makes me think if we give these younger blokes enough game time they will all end up top players.

I was pumping Chunky's tyres on Ology for several seasons when many over there wanted him out of the place.

I imagine it was the same here, and tiresome it would have been to read the threads because it seemed pretty obvious that he had the right attitude and was the heart and soul of the team.

Sometimes he tried to do too much and his game suffered because of it.

Perhaps with a greater emphasis on players concentrating on their roles he's been able to stand out more, and clearly he's grown as a player as well.

I'm still going to be on the outer with him though I reckon, because now I'm going to point out where he needs to improve.....I dont reckon he 'hurts' the opposition enough with his game.

If he gets that together next year he's AFL elite

I think he will.

The reason Jones has progressed from zero to hero is Jones himself... nothing to do with time, but everything to do with application, desire and a will to do the hard things. His has set the benchmark and if the others follow his example, then they will end up top players.

Imagine Jones in one of the elite midfields of the comp, where he didn't have to do it all himself?

I know for a fact that this is true. Well deserved - let's hope others an follow his example.

I gather from his bluey speech that he had a plan and busted his butt to get to where he is. Imagine if some of our naturally talented players used Jones's dedication.

A-grade? or B++? Thoughts

B+ but his kicking has improved and if he can get some help in the midfield he could be an A grade mid in a couple of years.

I reckon he's got himself to A-grade, he's the only one in the midfield who looks like he's got time and space while being a tough nut at the same time.

I had my doubts beginning of 2011, glad to say I was wrong.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
