We are rebuilding AGAIN. "It's gonna take time."

I hate that.

Melbourne supporters are perhaps the most patient supporters in the game.

Your sig sums it up, doesn't it?

Maybe they'll get it right this time.

I've been patient. I've given them far more money and support than they deserve. I'm sick of waiting just to even be competitive and out of the bottom chunk of the ladder. This rebuild better be successful or the MFC may have just killed itself.

Why not the Bulldogs, or St. Kilda or Richmond for that matter?

No. I would suggest that we supporters are the most unique characters in the game.

And the whole footballing world loves us for it.

I hope he is says the people responsible for the stuffed up rebuild will be moved on.

All intents and purposes Mclardy would say they have

Bailey no more

Assistant coaches no more

Fitness staff no more

Recruitment staff no more

Doctors no more

I think the stats guys are all different as well

More like rebuild 4.0 - 2003 was marketed as 'Demons the next generation' with Scott Thompson (gawn) and Darren Jolly (gawn).

But in all seriousness he has some good points. Our training wasnt up to scratch and numerous comments have been coming out that under the Bailey years we were more like an amateur club than a professional football units.

Sure we won some games last year, but in general we were downhill skiing.

If by taking time it means we get the basics right and we come out of this a real force then Im used to waiting. I hope that he's right.

But the people behind the scenes who appointed those people and caused friction are still there.

A build is something that builds on something previous that was there. We have gone BACKWARDS from last year and are now on the dead bottom of the ladder so if we are to go back up we are RE-building as there is nothing here at the bottom besides darkness and those weird fish with lights on their head.

I still remember the 2004 membership card which had Scott Thompson, Darren Jolly and Brad Miller on it with "Next Generation". Quite funny really.

i was wondering what it would go for on Ebay as a collectors item.

Im not sure we have gone backwards. 186 wasnt a great footing and we won some games (essendon and adelaide) but in general we were as fickle as ever. We might turn up on the day and get a run on or just not bother and get blown away.

Further I just keep hearing about how unprofessional our training regime and fitness was. Schwartz said he watched two football teams train next to each other one day and he said there was miles between the two and that it doesnt take a rocket scientist to work out which was the amatuer looking outfit.

I think Don's message to the faithful is "brace yourself!".

Things are going to get ugly over the next three weeks as the FD moves on the following issue: "It will take time for the game plan to become instinctive, and for the players to have the confidence in themselves and each other to execute at the standard we require.".

Time to shake it up.

No doubt. At least he didnt mention Jack Viney again. If all our hopes are pinned on someone who hasnt even played a game yet (no matter how much a potential gun) we are in trouble.

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t
