Confirmed by a friend who is a former Managing Director of Webjet.

Apparently the new owner is a serious Geelong supporter

it doesn't have an "owner", it is a public company now

The rumour is that Eddy McGuire had a role in it. I don't know how big a role he had, though.

It's amazing the amount of goodwill you feel towards a company that comes on board like this.

All my flights in future will be booked with webjet.

He "promoted the fact we were in dire need of a sponsor, and using networks that only he has access to, made webjet aware of our situation".

For more, watch EMT.

He also tell us all how he plans to cure cancer and 3rd world famine.

Doesn't look good on the CEO's cv does it...if what you say is true.

Interesting times ahead.

So who will be posting the 'inappropriate' comments on Facebook? Surely this sponsor won't be a keeper?

ps: hope you all have your sarcasm detectors on.

fancy that......an OPPORTUNITY.

Great news!

If Eddie has had a hand in this, does that mean we have to refrain from poaching the Pies recruiter now?

Good news, it's been a while, but lord knows we deserve it.

Webjet now officially my first port of call for booking flights!

Posted

I guess now I'll have to actually book with them, instead of just using them to check the available flights and then going direct to the airline to avoid the webjet booking fee.

I guess this has more to do with the fact that most of my travel is really simple; no car rentals, no hotel bookings, just flights to and from. I'd imagine if you were looking to plan and book a whole trip to, say, NT in July, webjet comes into it's own there.

It would make sense that the rumoured 'secondary sponsor' would be a destination. So maybe NT it is? Or 'China'. All of it. MFC is now sponsored by the People's Republic. The entire population has been instructed to clap once during each game... 140,000 claps per second ought to help get the boys over the line.

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
