Supporter Alliance - Sponsorship

Recommended Posts

If that's the way that people believe that we should go, I think those who are interested in setting up the trust should meet up after a game and work out the logistics of how it would work.

I'd suggest at a minimum we'd need to set up a bank account, a website and the actual trust deed.

We'd also need to appoint people to manage the trust and work out the terms of the trust.

It's a lot of work to set up the organisation, but if we've got a number of people who are willing to share the load, it's definitely doable and could generate some great publicity for the club and help get Melbourne fans more engaged and involved in the club.

Step 1: Get the cash

Step 2: Casino

Step 3: put it all on black

Please note that Voldermort's dad will be in the food court so at a stab all food and drink's will be sold out.

Let's not get too complex. I think the easiest way is to set up a site through the club and have donations (with a tally board) under the banner of "Supporter Aliance" (or whatever it gets called). Depending on feedback from the club, maybe we should set a target figure to reach, even if we don't reach that amount the club still has that money as a donation at the very least.

This keeps the whole process clean and simple.

Do we have to set up the site?

If we do I can offer free hosting for EVER. If we dont have a web designer in our midst I could get something going.

If we need to buy a domain name I'm happy to donate that for free. ie mfcsupporteraliance.com

If we need SEO I will have it splashed all over the net within a week or two. I can also handle the social media from a set-up basis.

All sounds good. Give me the Easter weekend to suss a few things out and then hopefully get in contact with the club and get feedback.

No problems - just let me know.

Well done CB. I'm in, but it needs to be named and 'branded' as a NEW proud supporter alliance in recognition of the stance for integrity taken by the MFC. If it got media attention, which would require a spokesperson, and preferably someone with some profile from our celebrity supporter list (e.g. Hamish Blake, Russell Howcroft......), then it would make the club more attractive for potential sponsors. A way to use this disaster to strengthen the profile of the club as one of uncompromising values beyond football.

Before Jimmy gave us the benefit of his credibility when he took up the Presidency, it was constantly bandied around that we stood for nothing......well out of this mess, and Jimmy's legacy, we could have our 'brand' right here........ and who wouldn't want to be associated with that?

If anyone can think of a better name or even a logo (anyone with Photoshop skills) please feel free to share. I want this to be about the supporters as much as possible so the more input the better.

No, it wasn't.

And I wish the club had a Support Alliance Donation Tally on the website to show how much we give beside our membership dues.

Yes many of us give beyond our membership dues. I think this "Supporter Alliance Donation Tally (SAD Tally)" is an excellent idea. Might need to change the title - though seems fitting given the current context!

The footy dept may be a good area to bolster right now.

The Demons insist they will not have to ask the AFL for top-up funding as a result of axing its cornerstone $6million sponsorship deal.

McLardy said the Demons were ‘‘loath’’ to cut football spending, though this has not been ruled out. The club still hoped to reach its budgeted ‘‘small profit’’ this year and had already activated ‘‘contingency plans’’ to deal with the enormous loss of revenue.

‘‘We don’t want to go into a debt again and we’d be certainly working hard not to do that,’’ McLardy said.

What did he say?

He was rambling on about Mitch Clark being the highest paid player at the club and then he made an off handed comment that he didn't know why suppporters would want to put money in trying to link the 2. Yep, I know it is a 2 + 2 = 8 argument that doesn't stack up. Then he mentioned Leigh Mathews name to justify what he was saying. I think Leigh might be back tracking a bit after Hudson was subbed off last night.

I really think there is a big issue with Greg Denham and Cam Schwab so he sinks the boot whenever he can.

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form
