So Aaaron did or did not have a sook to Misfud about the new coaching staff?

That's what I wish to know. If he did, then all that proves is that Davey is a lazy footballer who was unhappy that he was being made to work hard.

The side issue or main issue in this case is what Misfud did with the information. He should have never, under no circumstances, leaked info to anyone in the media before internally dealing with the matter. He is f$ed the integrity of his role, the AFL and the game and thus should be given the bullet. Am I missing something here?

I think we'll find that Aaron has sooked to Mifsud about something? Reportedly came back from off season in poor condition which can't have gone down well. Looks like he's just not up to it, we'll find out soon enough?

Mifsud is a c**k-up. He should have been sacked. I can't believe Dimwit sees Mifsud has been done wrong by Thomas reporting a private conversation they had but he can't see the very serious breach of trust and lie repeated by Mifsud in his conversation WITH Thomas. Hypocrisy must not exist in the AFL dictionary!

Jackie let me tell you a liitle story

A long long time ago when i started my first job i was sent to sydney for an intensive 13 week training course

We were each assigned a counsellor

The only time I had contact with him was for a weekly review session

He was a useless drip and the first 8 meetings went asthis - him: well how are things going? - me: yeah fine, no problems.- him: ok see you next week.

I started to feel I should at least contribute something to our meetings so on the next meeting - me: yeah fine but the course is getting tougher now. - him: really? well hang in there. see you next week.

The remaining meetings went as the first ones

At the end of the course he wrote a report which said that I "struggled at times". Well I hit the roof and refused to sign off and got the report rewritten when he admitted it was because of that one comment.

I believe it is possible Aaron may have similarly made some innocuous comment about the training being a huge change in intensity (no surprise there) etc etc which mifsud has misconstrued/misconstructed.

It may be as simple as that

As for the group meetings stuff, again that could have been misconstrued. Its quite possible that someone had a discussion with the indigenous guys about what was going on with the jurrah situation when everything was unclear. heck they may have approached mgmt themselves and had an adhoc discussion. Again this could have been misconstrued esp if a certain person has an agenda.

Things are rarely as they seem if you look at things through preconceived attitudes

Well thats the simplest and most innocuous way of putting it. But when situations grow two heads like this it is never that simple anymore and now is in the public arena and everyone wants to know. If it was so innocuous then it it would be better if Aaron came out and said something rather than just flat denials.

Hope we are not this slow to start on Saturday.

IMO this will rear us up for Rnd 3.

Hopefully we can perform well this week over West.

I'm not at a barricade, i'm in the mud struggling.

But I will continue to struggle not because I am assured that we will make our way out, but because a way out exists.

This club doesn't owe me much, but it owes itself a great deal.

I put this in another thread but it is best put here:

I just think, and this can be considered ill-considered, that if we drop Davey it will look like we are saying "You are right, AFL. Sorry, Mr.Mifsud. Sorry our player gave you false information to run away to the press and the AFL Executive with."

It is galling.

I want us to have a meeting with Mifsud, Demetriou, Thomas, Neeld and Schwab and, assuming Davey is righteous, walk in at the start and say "Grant - we are suing you, Jason - we want you to resign, and Andrew - accept the resignation, offer us an unreserved apology, and we might accept it."

What does the MFC stand for, Andrew?

You're about to effing find out.

Vlad has said the Mifsud has never spoken to the media about confidential information.

How can he get away with that statement.

Thomas is employed by Channel 9 and he writes a blog for ninenmsn.

If that does not put him in the media I do not know what does.

I now know why Caroline Wilson treats Thomas with such distain

Just listened to Neeld's press conference and here are some of my thoughts. The press conference didn't really add anything new except that Neeld kept saying it's done and dusted as far as he was concerned, also did not name the leak and stated he had no idea who it was. Now my concern with this is that there is going to be this festering media storm trying to guess who the actual leak was, is this going to be an on-going distraction for the rest of the season? Should Cameron Schwab come out and say something? I feel Neeld has been left on his own, where is schwab or Mclardy to back him up? So many unanswered questions still, I think this is very dangerous... Only time will tell!

My answers

Yes

Yes

We all know Neeld is a strong minded individual and admittely with limited knowledge ( on my part ) I think it would be his decision to go it alone.

The others may of course be keeping their powder dry.

He did not say he would not sue Thomas ( had not thought about that ).

The most important thing from my point from this conference was that he has spent very little time on work for saturdays game.

This is the worse thing that I heard, not blaming him because it was total out of his control.

If I add all the things together from the last two weeks it does not boad well for saturday.

The biggest concern with this whole situation is that it is starting to appear as if this story has been bubbling away for months.

Surely an organisation such as the AFL should have proactively pursued this before it became public knowledge.

How hard would it be to consult with the club & effected parties before it hit the fan.

Mifsud is surely now totally conflicted in his role.

And AFL HQ has the aroma of a steaming dog pile.

Well according to the Hun Anderson called Schwab and said something has come up in a meeting about the MFC you need to speak to Mifsud. Schwab tried calling him but received no answer. Mifsud refused to return his calls and instead went to (at the very least) Wilson, Smith & Thomas. Who is this clown Mifsud and how can the AFL sit there with a straight face and lecture others on integrity and bringing the game into disrepute and not march this guy out the door? Where is the accountability in the AFL? The whole organisation is an absolutely corrupt joke on so many levels and I for one am sick and tired of it.

1/ Happy with the AFL response ( Demetriou and Mifsud)

2/ Accepts what Aaron told him

3/ Has no idea who started the false information

What I did like was his grumpiness - and how he pointedly woud not answer or interpret questions that clearly should be directed at the Demetriou and his comments .

What's MN supposed to do? He has obviously eyeballed Davey and even passed him on to Caro Wilson. Davey has denied it. When it became public he asked the AFL to investigate it. At the end of the day his priority is to prepare the team for a game this weekend.Did you really expect him to pour fuel on it?

I suspect MN knows all he needs to know and has a plan to deal with it. He's clearly not the type of bloke to take this lying down.

Me too nutbean

He has clearly been hurt deeply by this and if you know the info about his famlies work in Africa etc you can understand why.

I have no idea if he is the coach to lead us out of wilderness but he is IMO a good human

He is saying it is 'done and dusted', but for me the biggest issue for the MFC is where this rumour started as it could eat the club from the inside out, which is apparently currently unknown. Either Neeld knows more than he is letting on and will deal with it privately, which I hope is the case, or he is just going to try and sweep it under the carpet and get on with it.

He repeatedly said he was happy with the way the AFL handled it, when it is clear for me the AFL tried to distance themselves from it by suggesting the info Misfud got was a lie by a Melbourne person, and by trying to turn the incident into Neeld vs Thomas, removing them from the heat. They are as much to blame for this than anyone.

I think the club is seething inside as IMO we all are.

And the club will handle this from now quietly, and prepare for this & next week.

Yeah no surprises here but when will the clubs stand up to Vlad and his cronies? The club can't let up on this one - Neeld can get on with his job of coaching the players leave him out of it, but McLardy and Schwab need to be unrelenting and hold the AFL to task. If we get in their bad books and end up with the fixture from hell next year, so be it it will just further demonstrate the corrupt nature of the organisation.

Boy what a great start to 2012 we have had!

There may be examples of teams rising above the situations the MFC has gone through over the last 3 weeks but I cannot bring any to mind.

I find it impossible to believe this will not effect the team on saturday

I think he would know what's happened and it may as Daisycutter has said be a simple case of a misunderstanding or a lie from Mifsud (perhaps over a few beers with his so called 'mate')

He repeatedly said he was happy with the way the AFL handled it, when it is clear for me the AFL tried to distance themselves from it by suggesting the info Misfud got was a lie by a Melbourne person, and by trying to turn the incident into Neeld vs Thomas, removing them from the heat. I'm not entirely sure he would be happy with the way it was handled but as I said, what's to be gained by taking on AD or the AFL or a bloke (Mifsud) they have for whatever reason decided to protect?

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
