cant see us winning a game now til we play GWS

We're no certs to beat them either.

There is no way possible that we could win a game of footy with yesterday's 22.

The last time we had to respond to a crisis was after 186 and we lost to Carlton by 70 pts after an even 1st qtr. I expect a similar outcome Saturday.

I was at the game against the Eagles last year and I shudder to think about next week. The Eagles are very professional they'll take advantage of the percentage boost on offer and I think there's b#gger all we'll be able to do about it.

Ashton Hams could give Davey and Blease a few tips on the role of the small forward - hunting the footy, sticking your head over the pill and tackling with purpose.

Blease shirked the hard ball twice yesterday......a quote from his school footy coach - 'he's quick but gives us nothing'

Sellar will definitely play next week. Their fwd line is very tall and Lynch is a monster. Exactly the type of player Sellar was recruited for. We still have to handle Kennedy, Darling, NikNat and Gaff up fwd. We are in trouble by some way.

i can foresee a 100 point drubbing easily. Last year's game, which I attended was downright depressing, I can remember us turning the ball over constantly due to the relentless Eagles pressure, and the run and spread by the eagles was phenomenal with players finding acres of space on the wide expanses of Subiaco. We looked really unfit then now that I think about it, there were times when the Eagles switched to the fat side after a Dees turnover in attacking 50 and they went end to end with 50+ m passes to players with daylight to their melbourne opponents. I was embarrassed to be a dees supporter that day.

Eagles have ramped it up a notch since then so I expect a real belting.

I'm looking forward to next week's game to see how we respond. I don't think we're going to win, but I have a feeling we will be much more competitive.

To be fair though, it would be hard to be less competitive than we were on the weekend.

There is nothing to look forward to about the west coast game. We are going to be opened up and gutted like a fish. My prediction is It will be the biggest thumping of the year for any team

It'll be a very telling game for our team, that's for sure. Will we be able to respond from a very poor performance and a week of criticism? Who's going to step up, if anyone? As I said: I'm not expecting a win, but I think we will be much more competitive than we were against Brisbane. I think (maybe I'm just being overly optimistic) that many on here will be surprised.

Noticed that bum Darling kicked 1 goal 2 yesterday.

Gee I am glad we picked cook in preference

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was
