Before we all put the team to the sword just stop and think about what's happened to the club over the last couple of weeks. No one knew just how this was going to effect the players, it was always going to be extremely emotional, they probably were mentally drained even before the first bounce.

Give them a couple of weeks at least, then if they're playing the same then fair enough, bag them all you want, but not this week.

What we're seeing today is the product of 6 years not 2 weeks, no more excuses.

Thanks for completely missing my point.

I think we now have a gameplan with Neeld so thats an improvement already.

Today has shown we have some good kids and the problem has always been with our seniors.(what has Davey or Green done today)

I know with the Jimma situation we were all expecting something special, but Lions are alot more experienced.(they also have Black whos a real senior player)

Its going to be another long season but I hope there will be improvement this season.

I'd love to believe that. I really would.

My gut however is saying that this is the first evidence of senior players miffed over the leadership spill. They've never been this poor. Ever.

Combine that with a bizarrely one-dimensional gameplan, a sub-standard midfield with some ordinary drafting here and there, and you have your result.

On a positive Viney will come to us as second rounder. Once again my football calendar revolves around one day, draft day. Tell me we did activate all 2 picks. Pls

Horriffic goalsquare error from Macdonald. He's out next week too. Green, Davey, Macdonald. Maybe Magner if his injury is as bad as it looks. Not good, Demons.

Once again too many on here believing (rather simplistically) that change = success

It's going to take more than one pre-season to transform this team into a club.

Patience.

And don't say you've been waiting since '64, because this team is Neeld's team.

F/S bidding apparently gets done before the draft, so no we will have to bid a first rounder on him. I'm sure this has been on Demonland like a gazillion times.

How many years are we going to be looking forward to the draft instead of finals?! We need a rebuild, we are a disgrace!

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
