As if this hybrid game wasn't already a joke. I'm a supporter of Green and congrats to him getting the captaincy nod, but seriously he was not a good captain this year.

Time was this was meant to be near to the best Aussie players vs the best the Irish had to offer, now they've got kids coming in, a small handful of AA nominations, and Green, who's probably only in there because he tried out for Man U as a kid, as captain.

The players have shown how they see this game, how are we meant to get behind it?

Let me know if there are injuries in these games. I take no notice. If we lose a player it is a disgrace AFL. Green as Australian Captain...must be a joke.

hence the "LOL"

Talk about a lack of willing participants. Green isn't fit to be captain of the Pasha Bulker.

While I don't want injuries either, this view that the International Rules shouldn't proceed because of this risk is flawed. Players get injured at training, in car accidents (no, I'm not talking about Sylvia - think Peter Motley), in the school yard and because they slip over at home.

No international rules is flawed. It is a nothing game that bears no consequence to anything. Let the players rest during the off season. Yes accidents do happen at times, Troy Broadbridge comes to mind. But this game can only increase the risks.

What are the ticket sales for friday? Last i saw was about 10k. Nobody cares.

We may not like the hybrid game, but it is the only chance an AFL player will ever get to represent their country. These guys might just love the idea, even if we think the concept is flawed.

As for BG, get off his back please. When the "real" stuff starts in 2012, I am sure Neeld will have the captaincy issue well and truly sorted. There may have been extenuating circumstances which led to Brad's below par performance this season, as with the Coach and the rest of the team, but I would challenge anyone to say brad has not been a great and loyal servant of the Club for over 11 years.

Let's wait till a player does an ACL shall we, while playing this rubbish game. Missing a year of AFL because of it. This is a money junket for the Fat Controller to keep AFL on TV & newspapers during the summer months.

Let's hope this year it costs the AFL & all associated with it a load of$$$ so they pull their head in.

The other issue is that the relationship and bond between the two countries has been enhanced because of the hybrid game and has and certainly will see into the future, more Irish players involved in our great game. With a compromised draft and free agency on the horizon, this can only be a good thing.

As for someone doing an ACL, if your aunty has a moustache, she's be your uncle as well.

May just say suck it up. As I have said all along it's not all based on field. He obviously is a great leader of men. If not why on this great planet would rocket do this.

When there is little else to choose from. All the great leaders are taking a well earned rest after a tough year. After Brad's annus horribilus i wish he would do the same.

You seemed to be loosing the plot.Who else would have had the leadership skills.Even Chip has been given a V/C berth who is not even in our leadership.

Thanks for that spin quote. Those are Adrian Anderson words. If Chip Frawley does a knee you would not utter such drivel. It is a corporate junket & nothing more.

Losing the plot? I don't think so. I see through a rort JCB that's all. For Green & Chip to be "leading" Australia shows the true regard of the game at hand.

Our boys should be resting before coach Neeld gets stuck into them.

If you don't want the risk of injury, then build a residential compound at AAMI Park and transport your players around it in a cart enclosed in bubble wrap. Don't let them drive, go to pubs, go surfing, go on holiday or allow them to play with their kids.

Why do Melbourne supporters want to put Green down so much? MFCSS? He's played IR before twice (2004 and 2010), and is the only club captain in the team. That's why he's been given the job.

If a player suffers an injury playing for us it's just part of the game. If he does it playing in an insignificant side show it's a travesty.

correct. Does anyone remember last years results or scores?

Doubt it.

Yes. Australia won both tests (series 2-0) and obviously on aggregate IIRC. Don't ask about the scores though...

Do you remember the exact scores from this years Grand Final ?

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
