I just saw it then, it was all faded..

Good news on Brad re-signing, I always had faith :)

Wonder if it's one, or he managed to hold us to ransom and squeeze two out.

I went to school with a Ransom and he certainly isn't what he used to be.....and thank [your Deity] for that!

And a jolly good time was had by all involved :P

I have no idea what you are talking about!

Not a comparable situation.

Mitchell stepped down as a highly successful captain to honour his "Kirribilli Agreement" with Hodge. He had a young family - and wanted a bit more freedom to concentrate on his own game.

Even if Greeny resigns - without pressure to stand down - , the perception will be that he didn't measure up.

As captain he did have to cope with serious off-field tensions. Would the divisions have been wider - and would the players have been even more inconsistent - with someone else in the captain's chair? Without answers to these questions we need to be careful not to bag him outright. It would say something for his resilience if he threw his hat into the ring for a leadership position again.next year.....egocentric perhaps, unrealistic maybe - but tough nontheless

To me it is very important that he remains at the club ... and that we as a group encourage him to play on.

This is a very important sentence hoopla. We do not know how much he did to try and keep unity around the club this year. I have been critical of his onfield leadership, and won't change that as it was woeful, but that is only one facet of the captains job. I too feel it is important he remains at the club, and whilst from what I have seen I would prefer another player as captain, I think he will not have two years like that in a row.

I thought I'd change it up a bit, keep it fresh. She will come back.

I just got in trouble for player abuse. Better pull the head in a bit.

You, slooniemcfloonieloonie, need to pull your head in??? You must be kidding  Just to clarify, I love your style sloonie.

Brad Green - Great Captain or Greatest Captain?

Discuss.

I personally think his age is a bonus. We have a young list and from what I can gather hes an ultimate professional when it comes to preparing for games. Have never seen him in the papers on the social scene and more importantly have he has never brought the club into the spotlight for any negative stuff. If the young guys prepare and behave like he does it will well and truly put the club in good stead.

That was my fault. Sloonie is sorry.

Jack Jack thinks you've been hanging around RPFC too much!

It's hard to tell how significant Green's leadership is off field. But from an onfield perspective he seemed to be more concerned with his own form than being a true onfield leader.

Or maybe it was just the occasional selfish passages of play that has tarnished my opinion of his leadership.

You make some good points. Brad I have no doubt is a top bloke, but that does not excuse his onfield leadership in 2011. It was clearly too much for him to handle, and this must be a factor in dealing with his next contract.

I reckon that covers it fairly well.

I was a critic this year but only on his performance on the field.

I have never seen any evidence that he has been anything but a great servant of the club.

Not sure why so many on here have him in the gun!

The criticism has only ever been his onfield output OD

He had quite a few mates this year.

Sometimes I think because he was captain he has to wear the team's poor results.

absolutley, and unfortunatley i guess this comes with the territory.

Not sure that this is a " no news is good news" story.

I worry when things take this long

Or am i just over reacting after Jnr. last year.

It's ok WYL you're still adjusting. Follow rpfc's instructions.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
