We are in discussion with the major sponsor it will happen by rd 1, to suggest this is a 'low-point' is an exaggeration of the highest order. We just signed our bigeest sponsorship deal in our history and one of the biggest in the league. Pull your head in.

that's the exact kind of mediocrity that this football club has accepted for too long. we've done something good so we can now rest easy.

fact is it's the eve of the season. we don't have a sponsor for the front.

Fact is that none of us know where things are at re an FOJ sponser. To say we don't have one is pure speculation... for all any of us know, negotiations may be well advanced and a signing could be iminent...as has been said numerous tmes, there are still 5 weeks until the season starts.

Chris Connolly gave a talk at the QLD demons function this afternoon at Emerald Lakes, and said the Demons definitely have a Chinese sponsor all but sewn up....

Hope he doesn't choke on his shoelaces.

What?????????

"Fact is that none of us know where things are at re an FOJ sponser. To say we don't have one is pure speculation"

There is no sponser on the front of the jumper, that is fact, not speculation. Some of the crap that people write on this site is just plain stupid.

If people continue to write crap, I will point it out. To say that not having a FOJ sponsor is just speculation is one of the strangest and stupid comments I have read on the internet, and I look at some seriously disturbing sites.

Sorry Thomo, but I can't be held responsible for your inability to comprehend the nuances of the English language. Just because there is no sponsor name appearing on the FOJ it does not mean that a deal is all but signed, sealed and delivered. As posted above, according to CC, we all but have a Chinese sponsor sewn up.

We have no sponsor on the front of the jumper, but you think we have one. You are either trolling, delusional or stupid.

Sorry Thomo, but I would consider you to be the only troll in this neighbourhood. Are you seriously telling me that you cannot comprehend the fact that it is possible to have a sponsorship agreement virtually in place yet at the same time be unable to place it on the FOJ until the completion of formalities that make it official?

And while we are on the subject of comprehension, perhaps you could tell me where I have said I think we have a sponsor? I did say "Fact is that none of us know where things are at re an FOJ sponser" and I did say it is speculation to say we don't have one (which equally applies to saying we do have one, by the way) - and it will obviously remain speculation until the club makes an official statement.

I am simply of the opinion that you are getting worked up over nothing and that with 5 weeks until the season kick-off, it is hardly worth the pain you seem to be putting yourself through.

In actual fact Thommo we do have a sponsor for the FOJ.

Reach, was quite plain to see despite the rain. Doesn't matter if they pay us the minimum amount, a sponsor is a sponsor.

And does it really matter if we have a sponsor or not?

If you look back at the jumpers from the premiership decade you will notice that the FOJ is bare as well.

The general consensus is that a paying sponsor is on the way so relax and revisit this thread in a months time.

People relax seriously - an FOJ sponsor right now would be lovely, however it is a reasonably small part of the equation. I can't recall what our turnover was last year someone may be able to do that but at a guess it would have been around 30 - 40 mill, if we want to play with the big boys around 70 odd for Collingwood. Yes every bit helps but we ain't going to go under while waiting for the right deal to transpire, it will happen when it happens. A deal that at the absolute most equates to less than 5% of our turnover can take as long as needed to get a deal done

Really? How exactly do you explain Geelong having had Ford the whole time they were rubbish and hadn't won a flag for 40+ years?

Whichever way you like to paint it, Geelong had retained Ford because of Ford being located there.

Nothing more.

The Ford example did make me laugh. I can't understand why the town of Bundaberg gets such good sponsorship from a rum company.

Just for reference sake - if we have a good relationship with "China" then the sponsorship may be a Chinese Airline but not "China Airlines". China Airlines is the national airline of Taiwan.

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm
