A strong body and size at the stoppages; a disciplined team attitude; decent footskills.

I was at the game and Tom didn't play well, he looked like he someone who hadn't played AFL for 2 years. The step up in intensity is steep. Would benefit from the run if he got another go next week, but doesn't deserve a game next week on today's match.

We've been short on midfielders - particularly clearance winners all year. At the moments its Moloney, Trengove and McKenzie with Bartram tagging. For whatever reason Jones plays a lot on a wing. Sylvia and Davey are out and Scully isn't anywhere near right. Gysberts is also injured.

McNamara deserved his shot as he's been winning clearances and playing good footy in the VFL and if he gets another game next we then so be it. I think he'd be a good swap with Bail though.

In all fairness Blease was ordinary in his first game so much so he was dropped the next week so I reckon we could al least give McNamara another shot at it.

Blease was the sub in his first game and was very stiff to get dropped.

If he continues to play as he did today it will be a long time before he is dropped again.

Tapscott....took the defensive forward role that Dunn normally does, played on Harbrow who had little influence, also kicked a good long goal......watched by supporters who have no idea

For most of our younger players the seasons end can't come quick enough. Trengove and Watts look tired and need a rest they both have had outstanding years.

I thought Bartram did a reasonable job on Ablett - I though Abletts influence was fair. ( as opposed to Judd who tore us a new one).

I have stated elsewhere I am not a fan of Bartram - I will never question his heart or desire - its is his decision making and finishing that worries me. Watching him closely, when he keeps it simple and reacts first time with either a short kick or a hand pass he is more than adequate - i.e the link in a quick chain. When he has time to think or is the last in the chain and has to push the ball 40 metres plus out to an option ugghhh. Its fantastic how he has led in the forward line to get a better angle shot at goal than his team mate on the boundary over the last two weeks - just wish it was a player you trust more with a set shot at goal. Maybe a good coach can turn this weakness around. Know your strengths and weaknesses and play to them.

Rewatch the match. Ablett had little to no direct impact on the game. And a fair chunk of his 'possessions' came in the third, when Bartram was moved onto Rischitelli. Ablett had one real impact on the score board, but was unable to set up a lot of play like he normally would. Bartram is back to his best position, and is recapturing the form from his first year that we were all so excited about.

I'm thinking that by now his goal kicking issues are in his mind, not his boot.

And I think you meant too many keep the bar *too* low on him.
