Bate was good yestrday when we were getting back into the game , leads up at the footy and presents hard . Out Strauss. Seems like everyone on here loves him. Shown bugger all IMO.Warnock has been very stiff this year as well and deserves another crack . Garland needs to be harder .

Gysberts has been shaky, up & down all this his 2nd Year. He needs a rest IMO to re energise. (out for Scully.)

Bate out for Jurrah.

Maric out for Bennell

Joel McDonald in for Dunn.

Evans in for Nicho to Sub:

I don't agree at all with the "Gysberts - rest" opinion. He is out of form, and I would make him the sub. That's a compromise for everyone - he gets to rest for 3 quarters, and I get to see him punished for poor form!

In: Sully, Jurrah

Out: Nicholson, Dunn or Bate

Lucky: Anyone not listed above.

If Scully is not fit, Bartram comes in.

One (of many) things I learnt from Sunday, we are a much, much better team when Bate and Dunn AREN'T in the same team. We can carry one, not both.

Can't believe people are back on gettin Bennell in the side. He has had many opportunities and done nothing. Maric has two games, one kicks three and sets up a couple and the next a very poor game. He deserves the run more than Bennell.

Jurrah in for Bate. Would really like to see Batram and Macdonald back for Nicholson and Strauss but I wouldn't like to make many changes as this unsettles a side. This is partly what happened against the Hawks with the forward line having little understanding of where people where at.

Maric was insipid. Don't give him any credit for his game against Port, Port are rubbish. Maric has no redeeming features. I don't know what his strengths are, I only see weaknesses, and lots of them at that.

Jurrah comes straight back in. Scully too, if fit. Nicholson stays, we need someone to at least try taking the game on with some run off half back. He needs to learn to shepherd properly though.

Bate and Dunn can make way too, even though they (surprisingly, to me, anyway) weren't our worst two players.

Nicholson has a hell of a lot to learn. He would be the first player I drop out of that team. He needs to learn that while it should be encouraged to take the game on, you also need to know your limitations at this stage of your progress, and chances are, you're not going to be able to break every tackle, or outrun every opponent. I strongly believe he has been quite costly over the past couple of weeks, and it wont hurt him going back to Casey for a couple. He's a kid, actually, he's a rookie, so we have a bit of time to work on him, which I think he has the makings of a very good footballer.

I see Pickles Evans has hurt his back and it's unknown how long he will be out for at this stage (must have ben a training incident?).

backline was poor for periods last week where it really hurt us, kicking goals from stoppages in particular, the inexperience back there is the problem with Nicho, Strauss and the Bull...

I'm a fan of these guys, Nicho especially, but we have both in the side for their accurate kicking (in particular Strauss), but they had only 31 possessions between them (Nicho 14, Tapscott 9, Strauss 8)... if they aren't getting much of the footy, I'd rather have bartram in the side as he's going to offer more defensively, and he finds more of the footy, even though he doesn't use it as well....

I'd like to give Maric another run, but our defensive pressure in the forward half needs to improve, and Bennell offers more in this area...

Gysberts is out, struggles to find the footy around the ground when we struggle against the better sides, Scully's inside work much more important against the Cats...

so having said that I think the changes this week are pretty obvious...

Out: Nicholson, Strauss, Maric, Gysberts

In: Bartram, Macdonald, Jurrah, Scully

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak
