I love the Grisham books.

they have much more socially and pc acceptable prefixes than plain old "english" these days, moonie. It's not the '70s any more. what's more you can probably get a professorship online for a few bitcoins

Some years ago this thread was created as an escape from the discussion a certain Hawthorn bound player.

I feel the need to escape a potential bolter to the west coast of the country.

How is the world tonight fellow banana lovers?

OD, there seem to be more twists and turns in that story than you would find in a banana factory.

BF I would be surprised if that did not incur a suspension. That name is not allowed on this thread.

Absolutely unforgivable !

I was in Fitzroy Street, St Kilda this morning and to my horror, I happened on the Gatwick which appears to be undergoing some change.

Who allowed this and where are the former residents?

WOW, you guys do hold grudges.

The guy who can not be named, played for Melbourne like a hundred AFL years ago.

OD you need to let it go as the Dawks will soon find out they paid too much for him. Really,if you think about it he will be the gift that keeps on giving.

Popcorn anyone?

I thought they moved Fitzroy to Queensland years ago?

froggy, just read the thread title. it's not that hard and there are plenty of other threads if you feel the need to indulge in sordid ancient history

biffo did try to enlist the comanchero's help but i seems his credit rating there had taken a big dip due to some "misunderstandings" over territorial issues and is still recovering

It's a travesty of justice DC.

I will be engaging some of Demonlands finest silks to sort all this out.

Meanwhile I am forced to slum it in Toorak.

I came. here also for a break from the Biscuit/Hogan thread.

What else is happening in the world?

I'm not sure exactly what's wrong with biscuits but this is certainly a more ( relatively ) sane thread than many others.( Who'd have thought )

The regulars would always attest to such but it takes the Circus coming to town to highlight it.

A cup of tea...toasted banana bread with a serious [censored](really?... can't say k n o b .. lol ) of butter atop awaits.

Bit wet today, can't see much building getting done. Might have to find another distraction.

Are you a fan of the round ball DD?

Graham Arnold won his first match in charge of the Socceroos overnight.

I simply responded to an OD comment for a bit of banter, which you appear to have an issue with. There is 995 pages full of banter here, so I don't particularly see the issue myself. Oh well you can't please everyone all of the time.

Moving on...

there are secret rules and traditions in this thread. cross them and you will be called out. they are not up for debate

it's a vibe thing....it's in the constitution

Yeah football was my first sporting love DZ. good to see an Aussie manager in charge but not a lot of young talent coming through. Might be some lean years ahead for the Socceroos

Thank goodness!

I have been over at the Hogan thread, and I had to drop in here for some sanity. Well if not sanity, predictable lunacy.

I like this Daisy, it explains everything.

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. Can the Dees continue their momentum, right the wrongs of that fateful clash, and take another step up the ladder on the road to redemption?
