Twitter, appreciate a response from him on the matter as well, I can only just imagine how much crap they have to put up with on this issue.

Surely red and blue flame must be banned from Demonland, not only for the stupid rumour but also dragging jims name through the mud.

Thanks Jarka...I was pretty confident it was BS, SEN would have been all over it, they were commentating today.

The club needs to get on the front foot and announce a press conference on this matter.

Be honest. Address the rumours. Tell us the state of play.

It's NOT ACCEPTABLE that Tom Scully dominates news about our season to the detriment of all other players and the club itself.

Instead of positive articles on Jack Watts and Jordie McKenzie this week, Tom Scully will be filling the airwaves.

Cam and Jimmy ... nip this nonsense in the bud!!!

I disagree completely. I think the club should remain professional and ignore all the BS. Holding press conferences, or asking Scully to hold one (as was allegedly stated by BT today), is amateur hour and shows that the scrutiny is getting to you. The club should continue to let the rumours roll of their backs and go about their business.

Didn't seem to worry any of the other 21 players today Ranger.

I suggest a lie down with a hot mug of coco mate.

The best thing we can do is all relax. At the end of the day is it really that important that we find out before the end of the season. All this hysteria and panic is such a waste.

Of course I think Tom and his management have made a bad decision in putting things off until the end of the year (regardless of what happened before the season), but he's not letting it bother his football so we shouldn't either.

it makes you wonder what the "supposed" Press Announcement the MFC were pushing Tom Scully to have that BT mentioned on Fox today. An announcement that he was staying, or perhaps one that he was going?

This whole thing has exhausted me this season.

Or you wonder where BT got his information from.....

unless there is a signature there is absolutely no point in a presser.

I firmly believe he will sign with GWS.

Which makes him going on about having 'the trust of his teammates' completely bizarre (someone will run with this bone).

Like everyone else, just wish it was over.

there certainly is an extreme amount of behind the scenes chatter on the issue with all the names in the media believing THEY are the ones who have the inside scoop.

My brother is good friends with one of the players and he told him that Tom Scully refuses to talk about the issues with any of the players or anyone at the club and has stood by this since this entire fiasco began!

Brian Taylor talks so much bullsh*t that I don't understand why anyone would give even a skerrick of credit to what he has to say. This is the same primate who on 3AW constantly struggles to give the correct time of day (all commentary boxes have a digital clock) and is incapable of performing simple arithmetic to work out scores and margins. Absolute gimp.

was in the rooms after the game, and i'm just telling you what i heard from steve phillips. For those of you who don't know, steve was MC at our B&F last year and has had a bit to do with us and the MCC. As i said, i thought i'd let everyone know what i observed in the rooms and from what Jim was doing/said to Steve.

You do realise that if he is named this week then you will need a new account.....

i have number 31 on one of my jumpers. i'm as shattered as anyone. just saying, unfortunately he is all but gone. Dean should give tom an ultimatum to confirm or deny this week, with his spot in the side pending,

we all want him to be dropped and banished to casey. But let's face it, when this guy was out for 10 weeks walking around the MCG in his suit with other injured players- he was getting harrassed by so many fans. He's safer on the field. There are so many things the club would have to consider if they came out and publicly stated tom was leaving. I think its a spot in the side that Blease or Cook or someone else deserves if they stay with us, but you've also got to look at it from the club's perspective in terms of PR. the issue has been a bad distraction, however because the situation is unique, they have to handle it well or it could get nasty. I think they now know, and they'll let the season run out.

Dropped to Casey!'!! If what your saying is true (and I'm still hoping it is not), he should pack up his locker and leave the MFC immediately. That,s what would happen in any other work environment... Pay him out , whatever is legally required, but his time at the MFC would be OVER.

If it's true that the club know and continue to play him, I'd be outraged. It would mean he lied back at his presser, stating he has the trust of his teammates... if it was true and proven, I'd ask Sylvia to run through him at training, that's how much protection I'd show him. Safer, please. As if he'd continue to rock up on game day.

Dropping him to the VFL or sacking him would reduce his compensation value wouldn't it?

Get as many games into him as possible and increase what we get in return.

If this is true, you'd suggest playing a person who has lied to and walked out on the club and his team mates so the AFL will give us a No# 18 pick instead of a No# 21 pick? If gone, move on.

I repeat what I said on another (much smaller) thread.

How about a bit of old fashioned honesty re Bailey and Scully?

Tell Bailey he is gone at the end of the season but he is expected (and paid) to perform professionally until then.

Demand an answer from Scully re his commitment to MFC - if he intends leaving then tell him to go now, if he won't commit then don't play him.

I know this may seem naive but it is professional and common practice in other circles.

Time to stop the speculation and to make some tough decisions!

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los

    HORE ON FIRE by Meggs

The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals. They brought tremendous forward half pressure, and our newly renovated defensive unit looked shaky.
