Saves him from being dropped on form. Soft knee and generally SOFT. Needs time at Casey badly.

Not in best 25 so doesn;t matter. Shouldn't have played next two anyway! Hopefully the heart tear gets better though.

Aaron is best 22. At his best he is top 5.

What i don't understand is why did it take till thursday to send him for scans, why not monday at the first chance or even last week?

Anybody at all think that this injury may have been holding him back??

Davey is a forward that has been turned into a mid fielder due to his disposal, he will never get used to tags, in reality we should have 2 or 3 blokes that get tagged ahead of davey but he hurts the opposition the most...

Lay off Flash, he has done enough for this club to deserve a bit of bad form.

but this is the MFC where the supporters don't actually rate any of the players

you can be a lifelong fan, vice-captain, hard as nails and be coming 4th in the brownlow and you still aren't rated

With knee soreness, they would have tested the mechanical structure of the knee thoroughly. Once that was found to be sound, they would have treated it internally and hoped that it would settle down of its own accord whilst mindful of their ignorance of the source. When it did not settle down, they got scans and discovered a small tear in the cartliage. Davey will have an arthroscopic procedure to clean this up. Quite normal practice.

Maybe soft because of the knee?

Just more excuses. I'm sure his knee wasnt to blame for him not going at that contest where he put one arm up in an attempt to mark the ball while thinking he might get crunched. You dont see Hodge doing that even if he was injured.

Bad form I can live with but being the VC (and no doubt very close to being the captain) being soft is NOT acceptable. Does not set the right example for the young fellas.

Seeing as Nicholson was the only one announced as coming in for their debut, maybe Strauss could be the other inclusion? If it was Howe or Blease i'm sure they would've announced it along with Nicholson.

In some way I agree, but seriously Davey is not a "hard" player.

Im not happy when he shirks a challenge, but im pretty sure he would of een told to hold his feet and use his pace to beat the opposition player.

Last week when he went up half hearted for a mark on the ST Kilda 50m would be in his mind. Could his knee of prevented him going up 100% maye, but the fact is no one will ever know.

Either way I dont think we will see Davey go up like again.

geez there are some harsh things said out of frustration.

He broke his leg last year and is obviously nursing an injury combined with a form slump, but great players like Davey will come back.

Davey has never been our hardest player but easily the best kick in the team (in a different way to Tappy smashing it 60 from defense).

We are obviously hurting on the injury list but i think if we suddenly expect Davey to become a Moloney-esque hard nut, its just not going to happen.

Shirking the contest last week wasnt good but wow, not in our best 22......kidding yourself.

Posted

Flash is still easily in our best 22, come one guys!

Sad news for us fans, because Davey on fire really adds to the viewing experience. Hopefully he can get himself right. Sure he was disappointing against the Saints, but he is still Aaron Davey and we need him.

Flash is top 5 easily, just not playing like it atm. Some ridiculous comments flying around.

I like it how he's out for 2 wks, yet the actual scans dont take place til tomorrow (today now) LOL....

Love the bloke but perhaps a rest will do him good. I havent lost faith, he will be a gun in a good team, but still gets too much focus at present.

GOOD LUCK DAN NICHOLSON.........

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
