LIng Injured

A pies player (did not catch who) grabs ling by the arm and drags him to the ground without the ball and slams Ling into the ground, shoulder out.

Must be cited and suspended.

Ling seems to be okay at the moment. Had no trouble putting on the red vest at the moment.

Would say if Ling was still in trouble it should definitely have gotten weeks.

It was Cloke. Dragged him head first to the ground pinning one arm and a serious shoulder injury. Shoulder is high contact, injury is high impact and either negligent or reckless. He is in big trouble as Ling will miss weeks unlike Dangerfield. Oh no what I am saying, he plays for Collingwood, won't even get cited.

By the way at the 7.40 minute left mark of the 2nd quarter Varcoe did a swing tackle pinning both arms and driving the player head first into the ground, could have broken his neck, but luckily no injury and will not be cited.

my girlfriend just asked me if hawkins would get rubbed out for high contact on that collingwood player.

i dont know how to answer this

Pretty simple.

No, cos Hawkins was going for the ball and Toovey was the one who instigated contact by going back with he flight of the ball.

On SEN said Ling is injured and it could be worse than first thought as shoulder wrenched backwards, which is unusual. Ling did not have the ball and had one arm pinned and could not protect himself, sound familiar. Guarantee Cloke is not cited.

Since when did the shoulder become the head?

Dangerfield hit the ground on his shoulder then his head.

Cloke was negilgent and he should be punished for what could have been, not was.

I looked up all Papal Encyclicals since 1950 (google is my friend) and nowhere could I find that the shoulder is sacrosanct.

For that matter couldn't find any reference to sacrosanct heads either but then I remembered that was a Fuehrer Vlad/ArchPrick Anderson encyclical and for reasons unknown hasn't been endorsed by the Holy See yet.

Won't be long before Head, shoulders, arms and backs are sacrosanct leaving a 10cm strip on the front of the body above the waist free for tackling contact, as long as the player tackling exercises due care with respect to injuries to the sacrosact areas as a result of the outcome of the tackle bearing in mind all possible permutations, and, where there is no other option but to tackle (e.g. tickling, trash-talking, etc)

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the
