The BIG Q - Quinten Lynch

GRUN DEE

Recommended Posts

We are after a big strong forward! Everyone wanting a Leigh Brown type. Here he is!

He is only 27 and would relish a fresh start at a new club.

Pro's

- robust (no injuries)

- big and strong

- big kick and one grab mark

- versatile ( can play ruck and I believe is very good at stoppages)

- 5 or 6 years still in him

Con's - ???????????

He is out of contract. So a 2nd or 3rd round pick could do it...

Thoughts?

I actually agree with you Jungledee. If we are looking for a player that may fit the bill but doesn't cost the earth then he is worth the punt. He may completely fail or he may be next years Schultz and turn his career around. For mine he is the type of NQR who will not cost the eartth and that may fill a role for us.

Definately not!!! To be dropped four times in one season by this years, wooden spooners pretty much says it all.

Our forward line is going to improve from within- I like our forward setup- it just needs physical maturation, to play more games together and for the ball to be delivered into the forward line more often- the scoring shots to inside 50s ratio is actually pretty good.

We need to find some more depth in defense, particularly another Chip like key defender because if he goes down for an extended period of time, there really isn't a suitable back up for him.

With our first pick being somewhere between 12-17, there should still be one or two suitable players available.

rather Ryan Murphy from freo or maybe Ashley Hansen as he would cost much

I have been on the Ryan Murphy bandwagon for sometime, he is no big power forward but a quality youngish player who can kick and mark very well! Funny enough his mum just starting working with me and from our conversations he is deffinetly leaving freo regardless! As for the big Q I have too agree there ain't much difference between him and miller maybe Q can kick a fare bit further!

Not suitable. Have a look at the game plan and tell me how this guy fits into it. Is he a quick mobile forward who can work up the ground and then double back to mark in the open spaces? Is he an elite field kick? I really don't see him as worth the effort, not because he isn't a good enough player but because I can't see him working with a gameplan that relies on speed and movement.

Package Ashley Hansen and Quinten Lynch and you get a bigger No.

Sooner have Serhart Temel...than those two.But we will come up with a good choice sooner rather than later.

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the
