Watts going on?

Did they say he is playing for Casey next week?

Absolutely stinging to see this guy in the red and blue now that some other kids are standing up and we are not a complete basket case

How many weeks at Casey are we expecting, given there are still heaps out injured and not a huge amount of competition for him to break into the side

What role are we expecting? I'd like to see him on the HFF

Would love to see him, Sylvia & Garland back asap. Adds a bit of class.....

lets remember he is 18 and it took ages for Gumbleton, Kennedy, Hawkins, Tippett, Mitc Clark etc to to anything......

that's true, and he was yopunger than those blokes when drafted, had school commitments plus has already had several injuries. Just getting impatient, I know it is nobody's fault but want to see him out there

Bailey has stated that Watts needs to play a couple of games at Casey before getting a senior call up... he mention two games in the twos and Watts should be back about round 4 or 5 (all this info was just prior to rnd 1) in the red and blue.

Not sure if the 50% (last week) he played counts as one game so I reckon he will be back for rnd 5.

I am tipping Jacky Watts to come back a couple games before we play Carlton.. then he can get his match fitness a bit higher for our match with the blues..

We win... he kicks 4 and cleans up brock mclean... then stands over him and say " Good choice mate... "

For the much vaunted #1 pick of a draft introducing itself into the best-of-all-time ranks, Jack is becoming quite the enigma --- no thanks to a disturbing lack of communication between the club and its members.

For instance, is he on a modified program due to his back and unavailable until Round 4? If so, why were supporters asking of him in the past weekend's Casey game?

Personally, I think Watts puns should be a bannable offence. Especially recycled Watts puns.

Watts for? It's often the only thing Watts Watts thread titles use to give away Watts the thread's point is. And if you don't know Watts the thread's about, then Watts going to make you click on it so you can say Watts you think?

On on the couch, they asked hodgey if he had any advice for Watts as a former #1 who spent his first few years injured while Ball and Judd ripped it up at other clubs.

He just said the club told him that not to worry about it and only concentrate on what the club want's him to do, and I dare say MFC would be saying the same to watts.

You forgot the scenario that somehow injures Judd, Warnock and Johnson as well. Not sure how you're going to get to Johnson sitting in the stands but I'm sure we'll find a way.

Ugh...

How many of this exact thread do we need????

There is no 'disturbing lack of communication' on this issue. It couldn't be clearer.

Jack had some injury issues that interrupted his pre-season. He is working through those and will have to perform well at VFL level in order to earn a call-up. VFL season starts on Saturday, we will be told how he plays, I assure you.

This has been repeated ad nauseum across all manner of different media.

We are not going to get a minute-by-minute commentary on how Jack went at training today, whether he thought Avatar should've won Best Picture or if he decided this morning it would be easier to just wear the same pair of jocks again rather than do a load of washing.

Honestly people, read a book or something to pass the time.

Am I reading a little too much into Bailey's comments on Footy Classified when he said "Jack's application is (slight pause) fine". He wouldn't talk about McKenzie's application in that way, or Scully's. I know the club is doing it's best to not hype him up after all the hype he started with, but i'm starting to wonder if it has now turned into a effort to lower expectations.

For anybody who was at the training on Good Friday will know that Watts did the whole session and then a bit more, he looks fine, so does Col Garland, Col Sylvia also trained strongly......but the club is being CAUTIOUS...as with the exasperation expressed by Inner Demon.....there is no conspiracy, the club is making sure that everybody is fit and firing and can stand up to the rigours of a full AFL game and then some.......I want Watts to come in and stay in and to actually play CHF, I hate to think what Lake, Scarlett etc would do to him if he is not physically ready.

They have worked on Blease and now he is ready and I am sure we will see both him and Gysberts in the very near future, as well as Watts

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm
