Check out the leap in the first ruck contest !!!

Just came across it five minutes ago.

Apologies if it has already been posted.

If we have him and Jurrah playing on the "G" someday I don't know what I will do....

Go Dees.

Looks exciting. Disposal not as consistently clean as Jurrahs but has some real assets. Lets hope we can snare him and the even more exciting Taylor at 18 and 34

As teenagers he and LJ used to be rivals, a la Carey vs Jacovich. LJ certainly rates him. He doesn't quite have the silk of LJ, but if anything he's quicker and has an even bigger leap. He'll need some fattening up, but he could be an exciting player, in the mould of Daryl White.

During the year it was announced by the club that it was instituting an Aaron Davey Scholarship for young indigenous talent. I'm wondering if it's possible to select him in the rookie draft and award him the scholarship?

If this were done, then he would of course, start his career at the club by going around at Casey Fields so I do have my selfish reasons for making the suggestion )

In that case KC, I hate to break the news but Essendon will have a selection in the PSD as a result of the delisting of McPhee. They've shown interest in Liam Patrick and will probably take him with their PSD pick.

In any event, I think the scholarship is more for young indigenous talent not on any club's existing list. In that case, the scholarship holder will no doubt be appearing with the Scorpions at some stage next year.

lets cross our fingers for the rookie draft,

Most impressive was his balance for a tall player, couldn't remember seeing him go to ground at any time that wasn't expected.

We currently have no rookie spots to use as we rookied Meesen and Newts. If someone picks one or both of them (no chance) then spots open up otherwise the only new player we can add is McDonald in the PSD.

Like I said lets cross our fingers.

However we wish him well.

After being overlooked in the national draft, it was inevitable that the Gold Coast would pounce. It would have been great to have the two Warlpiri warriors, playing as bookends, so to speak, but alas, it was not to be. Good luck to the young man.

Agreed.

It's great to see that he's going to get a shot and this is a better path for him than as a rookie. He'll also find himself (agewise) as one of the senior players in the side. It will be interesting to see how he works with the raft of 17-18 year-olds coming into the club.

That club is going to be absolute kaos with these kids, they are going to run a muck.

No look at this kid from the point of view of a record look at the way he filled the space for selection. He was always going to be picked in the draft.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
