Of course there is but it does not need to played out in the media.

We paid him a lot of money for a fairly limited return over the Journey, i as a member would like to know at some stage Why he decided to walk out with his Tail between his legs.

I am STOKED we got pick 11, but i would still like an explanation from the said "carlton" player as to his actions because that article today was a pile of steaming BS.

If you are that interested chase his Facebook site. I am sure he will be glad for the enquiry.

Otherwise get off the high horse and move on.

Mclean seems a good fit at Visy, with the family connection.

Personaly i think Mclean tryed to buy his way in to captainancy, with his donatetions to debt-demolition. When told that he wouldn't be captain, he had a teary and asked to be traded.

I didn't want this to turn into a McLean bashing thread, it's about the issue of where Casey Fields is located.

I don't see a problem with it and I think it's a great place and a great move by the club (for many reasons stated before), but it's the first time the issue has been brought up publicly and one that may come up again.

I am not Bashing Mclean, i just found the contents of this mornings article to be quite extraudinary that's all.

Marribynong to Casey is a fair hike, I get that.

But you're a footballer getting a great wad of cash- move house!!!

You're not a student with no cash who is practically forced to live at home.

Considering that you are driving against the majority of traffic, and the M1 up grade is nearing completion, as a Melbourne player you can live in a vast array of eastern suburbs - expensive or inexpensive leafy or bayside, and be at Casey in around 40 minutes. Plus you are closer to Junction oval and our future base at Olympic park.

Great facilities. Just miles away from the CBD. This will always be an issue.

Just a little....

What sort of content do you honestly expect from the Hun.

The Hun is a classic, the most informative pages are the 50/50 colums & the Garfield Cartoon.

But i was still very disappionted to read that article this Morning.

A once Touted Future Captain giving out those Lame excuses. I am sorry but i could see right through it.

But that's cool, i will just let Brocky know my feelings next year at the apropriate Fixture.

Good call!

And it isn't like he then heads off to a full time job somewhere else.............footy is the full time job, so if it takes a little extra to get there and back, then tough!

As I said, it's not ideal, but such is life.

Ask 99% of footballers and they'd tell you that they'd rather drive further than have to train at a rat-infested craphole (read: Junction).

Brock's choice wasn't Junction or Casey - it was Casey or Carlton(?).

And it isn't like he then heads off to a full time job somewhere else.............footy is the full time job, so if it takes a little extra to get there and back, then tough!

...or you change your job for somewhere that has a better commute, something many people do all the time.

Most Demonlanders probably can't fathom why you'd leave Melbourne, but when you're in an industry it's far from the idealised world you might imagine it to be.

If McLean's situation occurred in an industry other than footy no one would have a bad word to say about leaving because you know the bosses, have a better commute, etc.

The one session during the season, im sure it wouldn't be too hard to organize a bus to take players from our rectangle home or the G would it?

I reckon a bus would be worse. First, you have to leave when the bus leaves - generally that means when the last player is ready to go. Second, a bus is unlikely to go as fast as you would in your car (particularly if you're Brock, ZING). Third, it's probably a longer route if you end up at the 'G or wherever.

Of course there is but it does not need to played out in the media.

Indeed.

I care little for what a Carlton player has to say about our training facilities.

ZING.

The Dees are not the only club in Melbourne.

If you lived in Maribyrnong and worked for Ken's Pizza Joint in Cranbourne, but discovered you could ply your exquisite pizza-making skills at Graeme's Pizza Parlour in Parkville, one of nine pizza places in Melbourne, that would have to factor into your decision. Plus, Graeme's was offering you more money and a faster opportunity to participate in the International Pizza-Making Championships. You loved most of the people back at Ken's, but the place was a bit run-down, the air conditioning was stuffed, the boss yelled at you, the oven was often broken and Ken wasn't able to renovate for another 4-6 years. Time for a change.

To some fans the AFL might be this wonderful and idealised industry.

For players it's a job with bosses you may not get on with, employers with crummy conditions, colleagues that you may or may not get on with, a crummy commute, etc.

Pfft, I'd travel to Milan and back everyday to work with Dolce & Gabbana.

Weak as [censored] :D :P

If his boss in Maribyrnong offered him a fat paycheck, free pizza toppings under the table and the opportunity to manage the store, he wouldn't be complaining about the travel time.

And now I want pizza. Damn you!

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
