His ability to keep his arms free and still hit a target when getting tackled is awesome! You can not teach that very well.

Lighting hands....dear god they were quick.

He reminded me of Paul Kelly from the swans with the way he runs and the way his shoulders seem to hunch up over his neck when playing.

Don't get me wrong, I have a man crush on Tom, and seeing him in that Melbourne jumper was almost too much ;)

I did notice though that he seemed to lose his footing a fair bit, especially early on in that package. I will blame it on slippery surfaces!!! Still going to be great having him run around for us next year.

Did anyone else notice only once or twice where he defeated a current AFL player named D Rich? Poor little Bam Bam looked flat footed against him!

He broke Jarrod McVeighs record of 15.6 and Matthew Kreuzer's VIS 15.4

Heard on sen he got 15.8 and then they stopped him, i think they got the picture. Predicted to break 16 at this years draft camp, pity he is not there.

Some of those handballs when he looked gone for all money are absolutely incredible.

I know we've all been through these, but...

1:24 - Had the whole ground thinking "how did he end up with that in space?", 1:59 - He wouldn't have moved that on any quicker, flatter, more directly had he kicked it 2:44 - thread the needle... But can't pick which one's better out of: 2:30 - How the HELL did he know he was there?! Whoever received it must have been a good communicator... and the one at 2:56 - gone for all money, taken too much time to make a decision, gets slung, halfway to the ground not only does he deliver to a target, but to the target's advantage running into fifty.

Oh and that goal that started with him getting tackled on the wing... I think he actually had to slow down a lot to make sure he didn't go inside fifty too early. His team-mates had all clean possessions after he dished it off, and he STILL comfortably beat the footy forward.

I never realised it before, but my goodness he's quick. It's odd that it's passed me by, since I've spent more time watching his highlights than typing on here... ;)

It's not just that he's quick, it's that he's USEFULLY quick. His first 5 metres seem (among footage of kids, obviously) to be even sharper than Davey.

He's like the complete opposite of Bell. Bell has an attractively shaped kick, no vision or awareness, is remarkably quick given enough of a run up, built like a mack truck, doesn't handball too well... Whereas Scully's kick shape isn't considered a strength, has UNBELIEVABLE vision (not only does he know where to put it, he seems to predict where guys are going to place themselves), is at full pace within a couple of steps, is skinny, and his handball is already probably the best I've seen, besides maybe Black's. And that's a BIG maybe.

Does anyone else get a Boomer Harvey vibe from him? Only better obviously.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
