Lewis Jetta is becoming more of a chance to go in the first round:

Jetta pushes first round claims

Pace, penetrating kick, playing in the WAFL. Sounds promising.

Been in the news a bit here in WA this week, touted as a 1st round pick..

Prob is, he's not a top two pick and prob wont last until pick 18, so he's not really on the dees radar atm..

He's very similar to a lovett, or nev jetta - the latter who obv plays for us anyway - so not a big loss.

I'll keep everyone informed in case anyones interested:

1st point: He started on the bench!

CC admitted we stuffed up on this and could have got him last year at pick "whatever we wanted" but we let him slide and now we would have to pay the penalty if we wanted him. He sure is skinny and would fit in with our muscle brigade of Morton and Watts.

lol ;)

Swans down by 3 pts

Jetta hasnt touched it.

Hasnt really got near it and his opponent is a 4 time wafl premiership player - who as im writing this a few seconds b4 quarter time, has just run off jetta, off half back, thru the centre of the ground and just kicked a long goal on him!! Jetta couldnt quite catch him.

Just had 1st handball, went to the opposition.

Looks a bit lazy/uninterested

Starting to [censored] down now at quarter time, which might suit him.

From memory he has started slowish in the past and picked up as the game went on..

so there should be more to come..

jetta looks ok..

Only 4 possies to half time, but his opponents had a 7 -1 goal quarter

kicked a nice goal in the 3rd but only had a couple of touches despite his team kicking the 1st 4 gls of the 3rd

Way, way behind Nev and Leroy for body size as well..

Although you can't have too many quality players with those magical attributes I think he's out of our reach anyway. Not good enough for picks 1 or 2 and would surely be gone by 18. Even if he isn't, would we be in the market for someone of his ilk at 18 or a tall?

Jetta Invited to Draft Camp

Swan Districts speed machine Lewis Jetta has broken convention and had his draft prospects further strengthened as a result of being invited to the AFL draft camp.

At 20 years of age, Jetta is the oldest of the 75 players invited to the camp, which will be held at the Australian Institute of Sport from September 30 to October 2.

Jetta leapt into the spotlight with a breathtaking performance during West Coast's intraclub game in February. One of a number of WAFL players asked to make up the numbers, Jetta took on his high-profile Eagles opponents, kicked two goals and looked completely at home.

The cousin of Melbourne midfielder Neville Jetta hasn't looked back. He was rewarded for his stunning WAFL form with Swan Districts in his debut season by earning a berth in the State game against South Australia, playing a pivotal role in WA's win with three goals.

"It'll be interesting to see where Lewis ends up," WAFC high performance manager Jon Haines said. "He's attracted some attention at Swan Districts and in the State game. He's an exciting player and the exposure will be good for him. He should test well."

The above snippets have been taken from WA media articles. West Coast are very interested.

Have not heard much of him until recently. A 1st rd pick is a big call. Should still come in second round. There is a stack of good kids this year, so he may fall around the 20s this draft.

He wont go past westcoasts second round pic.

True, but I don't expect him to go much earlier, either.

Saw him play against Casey in the EF. Awesome player with silky skills and pace to burn. Would love to have him. Reminded me of Rodan in some ways

Kane Lucas, for one.

yes i hope west coast pick up lucas with 7. essendon will also swoop on jetta if given the chance. hopefully jetta slides to pick 18 and that's where we pounce. being resigned to the fact that we will no longer go for butcher with pick 2, here's how i hope it all goes down come draft day.

1 Scully

2 Trengove

11 and 18 Butcher if he slides, Panos, Black or Jetta.

i believe temel will be available at pick 34 where we can take him as sort of a rough diamond to see how he progresses.

pass on pick 50 for a pick in the PSD

Jetta is a must at one of those picks though. i can really see him tearing up the wings of the MCG hitting up Jurrah. Tantalizing. 12 goals from the wing in one game... gees

i guess the only other options i would consider at picks 11 or 18 are vardy, to add to our ruck stocks, or tahlia. tahlia is more of a defender though and i guess we've got a few of them in supply. i guess i'm hoping tahlia has already gone by this stage so it isn't even an option.

Hated the part in the article where it says that we should have rookied him last year, after being in the car to visit Nev Jetta and Bennell...

Turns out it would have been a steal!

Oh well... win some you lose some...

Knowing we got LJ in the PSD eases the pain.

If Jetta is available I wouldn't be dissapointed to see us pick him up with pick 11. Ableit I know nothing about the draft but it seems as if one of Carlisle, Black, Christenson etc will be available at pick 18

This was posted on Ology and looks to me as if he is a chance to go at 11 if he is still there.

on the official MelbourneFC twitter:

The word from Draft camp - Neville's cousin Lewis Jetta, super speed, super talented and very impressive in interview.

It won't please those that are zombie-like in their desire for a KPF at 11 but if he the best available, and he very much looks the goods, take him.

I would have to agree. I will be sick if we take a KPF at number 11 out of desperation. I trust MFC though :)

Obviously Jetta has talent...

But wouldn't using a potential pick 11 on a small forward....But a medium to tall forward..

This would be a better option rather than load up with these sorts of players with similar characteristics?

We have Maric, Jetta etc whom need a chance to develop...and a chance to taste the bigtime a lot more...

I think getting Lewis Jetta at Pick 11 would be a mistake..

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
