I said this the other week that they have the potential to cause havoc for opposition teams, and got shot down in flames, after watching Friday night i do now know that i was right, they do have the potential to come together as one and smash the other teams defence...... exciting times ahead!!!

They will but lets just keep it quiet for a bit longer...keep the lid on it, & lets wait till we are a little closer to a september tilt. Don't forget its taken Rooey & kosi this long to really click.

I heard an interview recently where Kosi admitted that he and Riewoldt have only now just started working as a team and not competing with each other for goals.

Correct they were always getting in each others way...it's taken 5 years. So many people on this site are so impatient. I can understand why but we gotta get this one right. We have a big chance here..

and dont forget big butcher who could be on his way to us :) jeez imagine the 3 combo of jurrah, watts and butcher inside our 50 gritting their teeth!

im really not sure how the draft is going to go. the question is WILL WEST COAST GO FOR A VICTORIAN WITH PICK 2 WHEN THEY COULD PICK UP A SLIGHTLY LESS TALENTED WEST-AUSTRALIAN?

if so, we wont get butcher.

Of course not. Thats a ridiculous assertion.

Good for you, CB.

You're on record here, too. It'll be bumped the next time either has a shocking patch of form but I have to say I was pleasantly suprised with the ability of both players to calm down and think things through.

Jurrah should have had 3 if others knew how to shepard and Watts could have kicked a couple more if he hadn't gone unnoticed.

I really think, at this early stage, that Bate and Sylvia kicking to Jurrah and Watts can make a very productive attack.

oh really.you think we would have picked Watts over Naitanui if Naitanui was a Victorian? i believe we wouldn't.

to think that clubs like West Coast and fremantle don't take into consideration the origin of the player is just naive. Players leaving after a few years or going back home is something that they don't want to face. The reason why i'm now content with Watts

i'm still not over losing scott thompson. my favourite player. And only for a pick 16. I knew he was going to be elite. grrrrr

Don't know how their lists look these days but I remember noticing a few years ago how several of the interstate lists were way over-represented with local boys.

Of course they take it into consideration.

These two should be played out of the goal square together for the remainder of the season.

Clint, this thread does you no credit. Watts for 2 games; Jurrah for 1. Suddenly the forward line is all fixed (lets get onto the mids?)

This whole notion of Watts and Jurrah fixing everything is just hand-wringing desperation.

Pathetic.

i think we would've, especially given how much we were crying out over a key forward. you can have all the mids, rucks and defenders you want, but yo still need someone to kick the goals. even a second rate forward. we don't have even that.

Pathetic, hrm, is that like claiming a 19 year old plays "frightened" because of his "make up, genetics if you like"?

I think the title of the thread was a fair hint that I was extracting the urine with this one.

Yes, I feel they will both be very good (Jurrah could become anything) and they should be played together as much as possible this season, but I'm not stupid enough to seriously put such unrealistic pressure on two young players.

Pathetic.

Gotcha!

In all seriousness, though, I think Jurrah and Watts could well become a potent combination. Not sure if they'll end up in the Franklin/Roughead or Kosi/Riewoldt league though, but finally Melbourne might have a couple of decent forwards.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
