NikNat may debut this week - http://www.news.com.au/perthnow/sport/afl/...5014947,00.html

There is a chance Natanui will get more than 8 possies, 1 mark and 1 behind.

To avoid much angst and gnashing of threads please start mental preparations for this outcome now. I know I am!!

We made the right Decision. Jack Watts lives in Melbourne. Natinui would always plan to go home. I don't give a toss about west Coke Players.

tyrone v nick nat!

i am looking forward to this game! it is a game where.. no matter who wins.. it helps us! it will be great to see them both in action!

Tyrone should enjoy doing the same as he did to him in the U18 finals. Nick doesn't like body on body. So once you take away the jump he can generate at centre bounces, which may impress some...he then goes missing. Tyrone knows how to play footy. Nick is not a natural footballer...athlete, but not footballer.

They play each other again in round 22, so yes no matter the result, Melbourne will benefit (unless it's a draw)

Interesting George.

I am excited about what Niknat can bring to football. I hope he does well. I have no regrets about MFC's decision. If Cox isnt in, it would be interesting seeing two raw ruckman in Vickery and Niknat go head to head.

You never know Niknat might even get them to 5 wins this year. B)

*Yawn*

I've saw enough of Watts to believe he was the right choice. 10 years from now NicNat will be a memory and Watts will be a champion.

I dont like to make comparisons on draft selections after the horse has bolted

We chose Watts so lets move on

I like footballers to make it especially high draft picks

I enjoy watching the progress of players irrespective if they make it or not and no matter what team although i obviously support Melbourne

Before draft day i was hoping we would get Watts and Vickery and actually thought Natanui would be a second round pick which proved to be wrong

I am of the opinion we need to add a ruckman (preferably mobile) to our list when the oppurtunity arises

To me the most surprising thing on draft day was fremantle not picking Rich

As a footy lover, I can't wait to see how he goes. I reckon guys with freakish athletic abilities like Naitanui are good for the game, regardless of who they play for and at what position they were drafted. As he develops, if his football ability catches up with his athletic ability, he's going to be really exciting to watch.

I'm not happy or unhappy with our decision to take Watts. It's just the decision we made, so now we deal with the consequences, whatever they may be (good ones, I hope). I don't like the coulda-woulda-shoulda that goes on around draft picks retrospectively. All it does is get people upset.

Have you seen NikNat playing lately though? His time in the WAFL this season the Swans Coach has been working on improving his footy brain. His first game back from injury they had him in the back line, I remember the commentators scratching their heads trying to work out why. He looked lost at first but started to work his way into the game as it progressed. He has been moved all over the ground during the season and played a lot of differrent positions. He also has improved as each week progressed showing he can play in alot of different roles.

His form lately, well last weekends game for Swan Districts 4 goals,21 hit outs and 15 possessions.

The weekend before 14 possessions, six entries inside-50 & 1 Goal He was played up forward in the ruck and ended the game in defense. "Even more impressive than his stats, though, is his incredible pace, work rate and tackling ability to run players down from behind. He laid 10 tackles again during the game and looks ready for an AFL debut."

Oh and he also did this .

So it will be interesting to see how he goes against Tyrone. A Natural Footballer versus A Natural Athlete (who is learning to play footy)

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
