B: Bartram Warnock Garland

HB: Buckley Rivers Frawley

C: Davey Bruce Morton

HB: Miller Bate Green

FF: Wonaeamirri Newton Sylvia

Foll: Johnson Mcdonald Mclean

Inter: Petterd/Jones, Moloney, Dunn, Spencer

Injured/Underdone - Bell, Whelan, Maric

Match-ups

Dunn:Harvey

Bartram:Campbell

Petrie: Rivers

Hale: Warnock

- I think Bartram will definately play given Baileys been spruiking him as having a great pre-season and when fit he's very good at playing on the dangerous small fwd.

- Dunn to play on the opposition tagger, he's been groomed for the role and you dont spend the pre-season caravaning the oppositions best player, sacrificing your own game not to play come the real stuff.

-I'm undecided on Petterd or Jones, Petterd can play on the small defender, can also play higher up the ground, althought kicks choppers, i suspect he might get daniel wells if he plays. Jones had a rough year given at times he was getting the oppositions best stopper. Lack of leg speed and kicking lets him down although his ability to win the contested ball is top shelf.

- Cheney unlucky to miss out althought with both Garland and Frawley able to play both small and tall its tough to get a game. Behind Bell and Whelan for the small backs role also.

- Unless wona was sore during last weeks game he'll definately play, had a great pre-season and had a month off plus a VFL game to recover from a hammy.

- Martin is unlucky to miss but dont think theres an obvious match-up if Rivers plays. Id understand if they took the cautious approach with Rivers but i think he'll play.

-Bate and Miller twin CHF's

Sylvia and Newton deep forwards.

-Spencer over Meeson....just

I hope i havent made an glaring errors

I don't understand why our supporters keep placing Rivers at the CHB post when clearly he is not a massive body & his strengths are peeling off his opponent to intercept the ball, or block the hole or just generally add support to fellow backmen?

He has been getting injured playing on bigger bodies than suit his frame. Rivers I'm sure can still play his familiar role from a pocket or flank.

Warnock is being groomed mostly at the CHB post & Frawley, groomed mainly on the Full Backline.

Martin can play on either line depending on matchups, & in the future after he's learnt his defensive roles, I have no doubt he'll be one who can swing forward ala Holland.

Garland is a medium to tall agile player who I hope never gets turned into a musclebound hulk, which would ruin his agility & recovery speed. 90 -92 KGs max for him IMO.

It seems to me that the match committee has said they want us to be more attacking on the rebound so we must have players who can both stop an opponent on H/B & run & carry the ball forward then deliver with precision. Grimes, Wheatley, Strauss, Warnock, Green, Bennell, Jetta,

Can you name an injury Rivers suffered due to playing on bigger bodied players?

Can you name an injury Rivers suffered due to playing on bigger bodied players?

General stress on his body IMO, I don't think he's suited to playing on the power forwards of the comp, not naturally big enough.

My opinion of [OP] & the likes is, one of muscle being built up too quickly compounded by endurance training. A little like RSI, or tendonitus. Shortened muscles used frequently causing inflamation, usually in the connecting tendon, or the surrounding supportive structures. This is how my insight tells me what I believe Osteitus Pubis & related abdominal injuries are likely caused by.

I see Jared as a most valuable 3RD tall option or Medium to Small defender, similar role to Garlands. I also see Jared as a defender first, slightly less of an offensive defender. I don't think he an attacking defender in the run & carry mould.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
