Sums up my own thoughts nicely. Jack really isn't the problem and removing him from our side isn't going to helps up at all. Once we start to improve and he has more support he will be a very valuable player. Right now he's still young and got plenty of development in him and a body to continue to build.

Geee we have so many players that are capable of kicking the ball accurately we should offload some to other clubs. Burn the witch! Think you all need to look elsewhere, Jack is not the problem.

I doubt those that would do such an act would have made it to round 10.

I like all of you are completely shattered after the complete lack of effort. I am not slashing my wrists, just totally lost at how the club can be so consistent at serving this type of thing up. I don't understand how the players can have such little pride in not just the club, but themselves. When i saw the club put out their own version of the "Harlem Shake" I just wondered to myself why are they fooling around. They have been complete rubbish for years and should be completely focused on footy and trying to get this club up the ladder. The club exists to play football and more importantly, win games of football. I haven't seen much football or winning in a long time. The question of the moment seems to be, where to from here? I personally want to see the club stop attempting to entertain. When you have earned to right to fool around because you are the top of your profession you can afford to make spoof videos and fool around for things like The Robbo Show - but this club is so far from even competing at AFL that a line needs to be drawn in the sand. Its just embarrassing to see them fool around. MFC - stop joking around. Wake up, or there wont be a club. Harden up. Ride the players to be better, demand it. For too long now we have fielded teams that have just gone through the motions and full of players who are just happy to enjoy being AFL footballers - without even ever playing a game at AFL standard. We supporters deserve better. I will be a supporter of this club forever, but please draw the line and don't compromise.

During last pre-season lifting weights and putting on size wasnt the focus. When Neeld and Mission came aboard they realised how unfit and weak our players were. They got the players doing a lot of running to build some fitness. The fitness that's been developed so far is just a base that Mission will look to build on over the coming years. I would imagine now that the players have a base fitness in place he can now start working on building strength and size and to continue developing their fitness. Remember that Mission only joined the club nearly 12 months ago, did what he could in his first pre-season and now knows a lot more about the players and how he can help them to take their strength and fitness to the next level. He's regarded as one of the best in Australia so i expect to see big things from the upcoming pre-season and beyond.

Funny how so many people think Clark when the most goals he has kicked in a season is 27. He's only kicked 61 in his entire career. I know he hasnt spent a heap of time forward, but big calls... wouldnt mind if it comes true though :-) I think depending on how they line up it has to be between Green (surely he doesnt have another season in him like 2011?!), Watts (looking great in preseason and added more muscle to his frame) and Jurrah (freak). But isnt it great to also have people like Howe, Petterd, Dunn, Sylvia, Jamar, Martin, Bate etc to put pressure on getting a spot in the forward line and/or to float in and out. Then we also have a few development/speculative forwards to add to the mix. Of course there is also plenty of improvement to be had with nearly all forwards but Green. I think our backline has been good for a couple of years now, the forward line seems to be coming together nicely. Hopefully the mids can take a big leap forward and young Viney gets some experience in the VFL this year. Bring on Round One already!

Good for Luke if he plays next week and for many weeks after - great for his development. I hope he becomes a great player for the club. But if he continues to play the to the same level defensively as he did today it'll be interesting to see how long your man crush lasts. Everything aside, im not writing him off like many of you are making it seem.

I agree, from the stats a great effort. For a first game, it was good too. BUT as i've stated, he cost us so many times in defence. He has every chance of becoming a great footballer for the club, this i do not doubt.

Stick the boot in? Settle down princess. This is AFL senior football. I note that it was his first game, and i dont expect him to go out there and tear a game apart. I never said that he didnt offer anything to the team today. But it might be a great idea if you look at the game again - so many times today his lack of defensive skill cost us dearly. Im all for the development of our players, but we play to win.

I'm not sure we were watching the same player. Granted it was his first game, but this guy will not be playing for the Demons next week! His defensive game is in need of a lot of work. Thats not to say he wont be a great player. But honestly, his defensive work was terrible. Beaten more often than not whenever the ball came near him.

Hi All With the new sub rule commencing this weekend, just wanted to see who everyone thinks will be our sub for the game? I was asked this by a colleague today and it got me thinking. Its looks as though its going to be a hard thing for the footy department to pick week in week out without a crystal ball that sees how the game is going to play out. Interested to hear who other supporters think it will be.

Scared me a little that Jack said about the club being a great place to start his career... maybe he was just like a bunny in headlights on the show. But he kind of gave me the impression that he'll be gone in a few years. Did anyone else get this feeling?
