Redraft CJ?

DEMONS MAY REDRAFT DISGRUNTLED DEFENDER

If we're really after best available it's obviously Cuz, not CJ.

If we redraft that ungrateful little [censored] I'll be writing the club and asking for a membership refund. Most disappointing thing I've heard come out of the club since the new admin came in.

Presumably he is just stirring the pot for our friends at Carlton...

I don't believe for a second that CJ will be at the club. However I wouldn't be sooking and demanding a refund of my membership if we did. He's a handy player and it would be nice to stick it up Carlton who clearly have him in their best 22 next year.

I've said all along that if we're going down the path of drafting re-cycled players, then we should select Greg Bentley from Port. Easily the best experienced player available who's under 24.

You need to read carefully..yes we may consider him...for about a nanosecond!! Me thinks its a bit of good ol [censored] stirring by Cuddles and good on him!!

Doubt very much cj will ever step foot inside a Demon room again !!

GOLD!

Well done connoll's. This won't happen but good to see a bit of pot stirring going on with those blue cheats!

Chris Connolly has a fantastic sense of humour. Brightened up my morning immensely.:lol::lol:

He qualifies it by stating "if he's the best player available". When we select an unproven teenager over CJ we are in effect sending a message that CJ is not the best available.

Exactly how I read it, dan. He's giving CJ a bit of a public backhander by telling him that he isn't as good a player as the untried kid that we will pick up, despite the kid being passed by every club several times in the preseason draft.

it has to be a rouse doesn't it?

it's a lose-lose if we get him. We look weak going back on our word and also force a player to stay who doesn't want to be there. Plus he is a soft outside runner with overrated kicking skills.

Agree.

IT WONT HAPPEN!

But top marks to the club for the properganda

If it caused CJ to choke on his cornflakes this morning mission accomplised

I get the feeling the MFC are holding a grudge

I like CC's media connections, since when have we had a guy able to twist the coverage like this.

That's it.

Everyone needs to cool their jets. CJ had a nice left foot over 30-40m, other than that I can think of nothing to get excited about.

We won't pick him, but we want everyone to know that it's no big loss.

Me too. There's that one quote from Connolly, which says nothing more than we already knew (we're going to take the best man available), and then there's a whole lot of expansive, speculative crap from Jake Niall, who's struggling to find any news on AFL at the moment. We won't draft CJ.

Gave me a laugh as well. I am surprised Liam Pickering bothered responding. There would been a discusssion/debate in the FD at some time over whether to keep CJ (Pickering dramatically or perhaps laugably calls this a split). The decision has been made and if Pickering really thinks Melbourne would re-draft CJ then he has his head you know where!

Presumably he is just stirring the pot for our friends at Carlton...

I believe so...

I wouldn't say CJ would be a shoo in for Carlton's best 22 by a long shot...

Correct.

Exactly how I read it too AXis.

And if Carlton up their price for CJ to "knock us off" the market, that'll be great.

I read this article this morning and also had a bit of a laugh.... CC is a top bloke! CJ will be spewin' that he has just basically been told that he is not worthy of being drafted ahead of 70-odd other unknowns!

LOL.... The day that CJ sees a Red 'n Blue jumper again will be the day Captain Brock runs through him like a steam-train and quietly whispers in his ear while he is trying to re-fill his lungs "That's what you get when you disrespect my guernsey!" :)

CC must have been having a blond (Fremantle) moment

CJ isnt AFL standard and no idea why Carlton thinks he is

Agree.

Listening to Greg Swan on SEN a few weeks back would indicate that they seriously rate Chris Johnson and he's certainly part of Carlton's plans for next year. Brett Ratten will be over the moon if CJ is available at Carlton's pick. I think that spells best 22 to me.

Having said that, I personally reckon he'll get dropped a few times next year, and he'll be the whipping boy among their fans next year.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
