Life memberships should not be auctioned/sold. They should be earned/presented. Crap.

Very quick to anger there Mono.

I suspect they were putting lifetime memberships up for auction. As in the successful bidders do not have to pay for a membership for the rest of their lives. Not as in bieng made a life member of the Melbourne Football Club.

Bruce wins according to SEN 11pm news.

Can't say he would have got my votes.

It's so hard sometimes to be enthusiastic about this club and where it's going...

Very disappointing result for mine.

Who cares if anyone here would have given Bruce a vote? The reality is that Cameron is a great Melbourne story. How many of you watched him going around in the ressies when they played at Punt road? Bruce continues to defy the odds... He is worthy of support and admiration... yes even from the coulda-beens who frequent these boards.

There is six people that will not have to pay again for a membership. That's a minimum of $1,000 a year to the club, minimum. The one who paid $7,000 - thats equivalent to nearly 20 years worth of memberships.

Does the money from the life memberships go to Debt Demolition, Dee-tention?

Not sure where the money goes High Tower! I will find out more in the next few days. And Yes. Cam the Bruce win's!

Congratulations on Cameron Bruce winning the 2008 Best & Fairest for the Demons.

As harsh as it may sound it probably feels pretty hollow to win the MFC Best & Fairest in a year where the club finishes on the bottom of the ladder.

I'm sure that Yze_Magic has gone completely insane on this news because it wasn't Brad Green.

Who cares? Most of us here support the Melbourne Football Club as a whole not just particular players.

:o Must of got up in the last two rounds, surely... must be extra votes for errant handballs...well done Brucey.

Fantastic to see Cale Morton getting 7th at 18 years old in his first year.

And ozzie 10th!

Pretty suprised about Warnock and Jones positions

He may be a great Melbourne story but he is not a great player. His kicking and his lack of intensity being his greatest weaknesses. I really hope that the rumours re his contract amount are not true but logic says they have some credence given we were paying 100% of the cap with Neita and Ooze on the veteran's list. If we are to challenge for a flag then we will need better quality best and fairest winners than Cam. Garland would have got my vote over Bruce, Wheatley played better.

Me - A could been? More a never-was. But at the age of 38 definitely a never-seen-his-team-win-a-flag.

I have to admit that the award feels somewhat hollow in these bad years, you don't really know who's going to win. Robertson won in 2003, and he was good, but hardly what you'd call a prolific forward.

When you've made the finals, it's been a genuine team effort, and there's competition between the players.

This year, there was Green and Bruce, who were solid, but that's all you can really say.

Who votes for the B&F?

If it's the coaches then I'm worried because that list is out of whack IMO.

I agree Biz.

STill scratching my head on the above...

Congratulations to Cam Bruce on winning this years award. Minor recognition to Bailey's Babies for tipping the victory.

We are a joke, always have been, always will be.

Hey, that's catchy. Why don't you put that in your sig?

Another nod to medicority

Well lets hope that list reads differently in a few years !! <_<

God who votes for the Bluey

Given Bluey was reknown for his accuracy of disposal...Somewhat ironic surely that the guy who won it cant hit the side of a barn!!

Interestingly, Cameron Bruce was named best in Herald Sun, and best by both coaches (10 votes) - FC. I noticed in Demonland Voting he was down in the pecking order. Are we at Demonland underestimating him? He's fifth in the overall Demonland votes. But I thought he might of got some 5 and 6 votes, but instead got 2's and 3's.

I think he might be a chance in the B&F.

Just an observation regarding he's B&F chances.

There you go sports fans....Aug 19. ;)

congrats to cam, thoroughly deserved even though the team performed poorly. also great to see mclean second, which shows how highly rated he is, hope he gets the captaincy and wins the b&f next year

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
