Im really glad the club has taken the initiative in chasing big Robbie!

By the sounds of it, he was very impressed with our presentation, so good news all round!

The Ox has hinted for weeks he'll be a demon, lets keep our fingers crossed!

But well done Chris Connoly and the boys who met him at the meeting!

im pretty sure simon buckley and shane valeenti wud have been one of the 8 young blokes as they played sandringham dragons together

Im not sure about Valenti but Buckley was definately in there, Garland and Sylvia were as well. I heard that Sylvia really dominated the conversation, discussing how great the club, people, fans are. Heard on the radio that he spoke with passion about his team.

All this 150 years celebration stuff has been great for our teams spirit. With Brock and now hearing Sylvia with this, seems like it enlightened a fire in the boys stomachs, they all seem to really love the club lately.

During coverage of the Freo v St. Kilda game on radio (SEN?), some Perth commentators - including Freo directior Ben Allan - were discussing the presentation.

- They were very unimpressed with the MFC's conduct, given the season hasn't finished.

- Ben Allan sounded very angry about it all, and the other Perth commentator said it was 'disgusting'.

- Apparently it was supposed to be an informal meeting, and Warnock was surprised to find the players etc in attendance.

- The commentators laid the blame at the feet of Warnock's manager, who apparently manages someone connected to Melbourne (can't remember who, an official iirc - CC?), but had a shot at Warnock for agreeing to the meeting.

Edit: Allan made an effort to be diplomatic, but refused to comment 'from a personal POV', and it was clear he was annoyed. From a Freo perspective, he said the Club was 'confident' of retaining Warnock.

Was Tim Gosage one of the commentators Rogue? One scribe this morning on SEN suggested the Mfc players had come back from a function, dressed....(perhaps tongue in cheek)

Having had Thompson, Farmer, and Longmuir taken from us by Adelaide and Freo recently i couldn't give a rats about them.

Oh and by the way, when did Carlton start talking to Judd?

Good point Redleg......F-ing good point.

Oh, how I would love to have heard that segment. The WA Foxtel footy commentators are straight out of the West Coast and Fremantle cheer squads - the most biased and inept commentary teams ever assembled. It's pretty hard to take them seriously at the best of times, but as Redleg has pointed out, their hypocrisy is comical.

Absolutely.

Harvey really is a halfwit, isn't he. He's trying to sell the Freo situation to Warnock and he comes up with this:

"He probably understands he's still evolving as a player and he's probably going to play with a guy (Sandilands) that hopefully asserts himself into a dominant ruckman for a period of time.

"And Robbie can play along with that for many years to come and that's the striking thing that he should be looking forward to at this stage."

So Warnock "should be looking forward to" being the second string ruckman and playing limited minutes behind Sandilands "for a period of time", eh Harvs?

I don't know if the idea of being second string ruckman for the next 8 years is really what Robbie wants to do. It certainly isn't going to be the driving force behind keeping him in WA.

If that's the ace up his sleeve then I hope he's already holding 4 Jacks.

Fremantle can squawk as much as it likes. If they think they're innocent in terms of poaching players then they might want to consider names like Troy Longmuir and Jeff Farmer ... or even Troy Simmonds.

I wouldn't have thought any team is "innocent" in terms of trying to poach certain players from opposition clubs if it suits them.

And trying to play the victim to the big bad bad Demons just makes the Dockers look as hypocritical as they are.

I am thrilled that the club is being proactive in trying to get someone that they want and as long as no specific laws are broken then so be it.

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak
