How is Martin still not getting a position in the starting 18? Not that it matters as he'll play anyway.

Would love to see Maric debut, simply because it's an extra incentive to turn up despite a guaranteed loss, however can't justify dropping anyone from the bench to make room for him.

I'd drop Aussie for Maric.

Aussie is the only first year player to avoid getting a few weeks break this year, and from a distance he seems to be getting a bit tired in my opinion.

Give Maric a go in a home game in what is essentially a low pressure match, but one that would still give him a taste of AFL footy

That's what I was thinking. It's all about just getting one or two games into the kids to show them what needs to be done. The Roos are a hard side, Maric will learn a lot from getting 80 minutes in the forward fifty. If he blows them away, play him the following week, if he doesn't, drop him and let Wonna run riot after a bit of a rest again.

Or alternatively play them both an dwhat the Kangas defence squirm against 3 extremely skillful small forwards in Wonna, Maric and Sylvs. Plus having to deal with Miller. I like our forward line.

And how would you know?

In fact, you wouldnt know [censored] from clay mate.

What do you want, a medal?

Carroll and White should be put out to grass. Even if their form warrants it, with 6 games left in the year their inclusion is of little to no value to the side. I'd rather see an 18 year-old Addam Maric get 1 handball and 5 frees against and learn a hard footy lesson than have somebody who is in no way part of our future return to the side. Get the kids on, and give them game time.

That's what I thought too, Wonna was a little quiet last week..

IN: McDonald, Maric (debut)

OUT: Wheatley (Calf), Wonaeamirri

He won't play. Garland, Warnock and Martin all deserve their spot.

Why would you bring in Carroll? No need and Bailey won't do it.

Good idea lets drop the nucleus for the next 10 years for chopper.

Or better yet, squeeze him in by dropping someone like Wona, Morton or CJ. Who cares if building those young guys to understand each other so we are prepared for the next 10 years.

I don't know whether you understood and agreed with me, and your sarcasm drowned out the sentiment, or if you have totally misread my post. When I say 'put out to grass', I don't mean put them on the field, I mean put them out to pasture. White has been a tremendous servant for the club, but his playing days are finished in any meaningful sense. Carroll is just finished.

That's funny.

Hope Maric gets a game or two. Don't know who to leave out, maybe a slight injury concern in the starting 18.

I dont want a medal.

I just think it was ironic that so many disagreed with me and yet both Carroll and White were included in our extended squad.

they were in the squad last week and didnt play.

the squad means jack really. the chance of them getting a game is very very low. especially if they are not named on the field ala mcdonald...

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

POSTGAME: Rd 10 vs West Coast

Many warned that this was a danger game and the Demons were totally outclassed all game by a young Eagles team at Optus Stadium in Perth as they were defeated by 35 points.

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
