Mike Sheahan on Dean Bailey & Melbourne

Recommended Posts

Important to remember that Sheahan is a fan of the Dees. He has always been critical of them in the past for promising much and delivering little. Obviously a sign that he is excited about the future of the club like all of us! I always enjoy his articles and his view on the club

best line of the article:

Bailey has orchestrated 10 changes to the Melbourne team that won the last game last year, admittedly, the un-loseable game against Carlton.

fantastic line there. but still the afl will continue to claim that 'tanking doesnt exist'.

He's shown his colours this season. The last few articles on Melbourne have been articles written by a supporter, not a journalist, imo. Not discrediting his work at all, though.

Still think he is a bit of a tool, but good article at least.....

Not a big fan of journalists who support a particular team.... They tend to be a bit 'scared' with what they write, fearing a backlash for being too one-eyed or even too scathing of their own....

But I do respect him as a footy lover and I believe he has hit the nail on the head..... But of course, we all knew this well before he wrote it! ;)

I wonder if Mike just getting a little bit excited ( on the quiet of course..) lol :D

He wil have seen much come and go. Seems like he thinks Bails is teh real deal. Quite an early call on that really

Exactly!

A good article by Mike, bout time!

Its good to see people are slowly seeing Bailey's vision..

Kids, kids and more kids!

IMO, he will pull off the greatest turn around imaginable for us, just love the way he handles himself, and he has already earned alot of respect in the footy world, the players love him, the Port players miss him..

The best part is, Grimes, who IMO is our biggest talent, Cale, Maric, Mcnamara, Cheney, Zomer, Meeson, Martin.. are all still to be added to that side!

Its just so exciting, I really, for the first time in my 24 years of membership, am nothing but optimistic about our playing future, love the balance and discipline of the side, the game plan is developing, its all nothing but up!

Alot of work still needs to be done, ie, getting a young key forward by utilising the trade period well, then of course we have a top 2 pick, in the best draft since the SUPER draft!

Watts or Naitainui... omg, so very pleasing!

Im big Kev excited, thats 4 sure!!

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
