Agree. Along with McLean and the general increase in effort, he was the catalyst for the much improved 3rd. Good pace, reasonable size (up not out at this stage) and pretty handy disposal.

I said to my mate in the third "garland, our best forward option, unfortunately he's also our best back option" this was followed 15 minutes later by the claim that garland "is now our best midfielder too"

A bit of a joke, but also a claim that this boy can play, is growing, and could become something special

Garland is living proof why when young players have bad games, it doesnt mean they are absolute duds. Will be a 10 + year running back, i liken him to Dustin Fletcher, without the unco-ness.

possibly the next Matthew Scarlett? a lot of similarities in his game... not to put pressure on the kid or anything... but great potential there... potential he's starting to realise...

top drafting CAC... taken in the 40's...

Too early to tell really, but thats not a bad comparison to draw. He does seem to move and play very similarly. All he needs is the body.

Going very good, only knock is he loses a bit of concentration with his spoiling sometimes and lets a few get behind him and into dangerous areas

Too early to tell really,

hence the word possibily

if he does get a little more size he could be a fantastic defender... but then he looks like he could play anywhere...

That's what I was saying to myself the whole way home re the Morton disaster today....

I listened on SEN (worst ever btw, next time I'll get the ABC) and KB told me at least 5 times that Wheatley had been our best. I'll try to use my imagination to fill in the blanks with Garland, because I barely heard his name during the call.

Listening on the radio utterly sucks.

I am in love with Garland.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Garland and Petterd, not to mention Grimes, Frawley, Maric, Cheney, Zomer, Morton et al were recruited by CC in the last few years?

Way too early to make the call on CC's recruiting abilities.

There's definitely a future.

Oh no Bob!

What have you done...

He looks too much like Chris Lamb. I'll wait to see how he goes next year to give my judgment.

At least he doesn't play like him

ABC would be great except for Drew Morphet, he's the only reason why I don't listen to them all the time

I am still replaying his mark in the forward line in the 3rd quarter in my mind. Fair to say, no other forward option we currently have can take a mark like that. With 3-6 extra KGs, we may have found something quite special.

yeah he does that quite a bit, usually when he goes for the huge punch over the top and either misses or it skims through the back. i think he'll start hitting them cleaner with time. what i like about him the most is that he will get beaten on occasions on the lead, but he rarely gets out positioned one on one.

think a rising star nomination might be in store for col this week...

If he keeps improving at the rate he is going, he could damn near win the whole thing.

Unfortunately, he won't be the popular pick over the likes of Palmer, Kreuzer and Cotchin. But which one of them will have played themselves into one the most important and best players on their team by the end of the season? Maybe Palmer.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
